We made it home last night for our mountain getaway and I am feeling refreshed (and maybe a little sore). There is something reinvigorating about the crisp mountain air that makes you feel just a little more alive. My mind just opened up while I was cruising down those fresh pillows of snow. For the first time, I finally allowed myself to feel a little out of control. What I realized is something magical happens with you let your guard down a little.
Since I am currently in a snowglobe, I thought it was only fitting for today’s Style Details to be all about those warm weather must-haves. I have to say it can be a little tough to look cute when it is FREEZING outside. During my time living in the midwest, I collected a few key pieces to keep warm and still look chic.
Currently, I am bundled up by the fire in a cozy turtleneck watching the snow fall outside. We are still in Vail and having such a fun time. If I wasn’t missing the pups like crazy, I could really stay here forever. I love the snow filled streets, quaint restaurants and of course, skiing.
We made it to first Friday of 2017 and I think we should all get a gold star :)
Patrick and I are headed to the mountains later this afternoon for our first ski trip of the season. I think the crisp mountain air and some skiing will be just what the doctor ordered. I have to say, I have been feeling great all week with an abundance of inspiration that has been flooding my brain. Honestly, I can’t seem to shut it off.
Today marks the 175th Style Details post (a little crazy to think about), but today will look a little different. Today is the start of something new and fresh. For some time, I have wanted to switch up my favorite series, but never found the right time.Well, today is the day for the new and improved Style Details. No time like the present, right?

One of my favorite things about going home to Arizona is spending time outdoors (and, of course, quality time with my parents, little brother, and best friends). Whether we are hiking at Brown’s Ranch, Pinnacle Peak, or Camelback mountain, or even just playing wiffle ball in the front yard; we are constantly on the move. This year, the weather wasn’t the best on Christmas Eve day, so we opted out of our annual family hike. Thankfully the sun came out the day after Christmas, so we decided to burn off all those Christmas cookies with a walk in the wash that backs up to my family’s house. It was the perfect ending to a great holiday weekend.
