While almost every blogger I know is headed down south to my new hometown, I will be jet setting to San Diego for a fun-filled wedding weekend, with my MOH survival kit in tow.  I guess this being my first time as an MOH, I didn’t know what to expect, other than the fact that the bride-to-be is not only family but one of my best friends.  Naturally, a destination wedding called for some major shopping sprees (and thanks to the Shopbop Sale, I scored almost everything I needed for the weekend). I plan on wearing crochet cover ups and cute swimsuits during the day and flowy dresses with my new favorite sandals at night. I am just so giddy thinking about this long weekend.

Wedding Season is upon us and I could not be more excited.

Being at the age where at every turn someone is either getting engaged or has a wedding on the horizon, I am always on the lookout for that perfect dress. Finding a long dress that doesn’t look like your a bridesmaid, or doesn’t cost you thousand of dollars can be tough, so when I found this silk number at Club Monaco, I knew I had to have it.  Being neutral, this dress can be dressed up for a black tie affair with some heeled sandals and a slick back ponytail or dressed down for something more casual (think: beach wedding).

If you look closely at my wrist you will notice a gold bracelet. At first glance it will appear to be an ordinary gold cuff, but it really it is much more than just your average bracelet. With Mother’s Day, less than a month away, I am always on the lookout for meaningful gifts. I always struggle with finding that “perfect” gift for my mom and normally end up giving her this candle or a picture frame (these are both rated a 10 on the lame gift scale). This year, I decided to start early in my search for the best Mother’s Day gift to date.  If you have never heard of Uncommon Goods, you will now.  It is one of my best kept secrets.  You can find anything from chalkboard cheese board to handmade jewelry.  After a quick search on the site, I found this Astrology bracelet and knew this was the gift.  Since my mom and I do not live in the same place, I thought it would be fun to give her my astrology sign bracelet, and I would get one of hers (okay, it was actually just a great idea so I could get myself I cute, new bracelet too). But, every time she looked down, she would know she had a little piece of me with her.

Guys, I can just not get my act together lately.  The combination of a new job, new city to explore, trying to meet new friends and traveling everyone has left me neglecting my computer screen. Which in all honesty is great for my social life but not so great for this space that I love so much.  We are staying in town for Easter this year (trying our new church down the street) and maybe a hot spot for Brunch on Sunday.  But the majority of my weekend will be spent catching up on some much needed blog time and attention.  I have lots of fun posts planned (think: Wedding Detail updates) for the upcoming weeks, and a trip to San Diego that I am sure will bring me lots of inspiration.

Hope all you chickies have a wonderful Easter weekend.
