“She loved the ocean because every time the waves left the shore, they always came back.”-unknown
As I laid in the sand with the waves crashing at my feet, a slew of memories rushed in. I don’t know if it was the sounds of the water or the sun shining down on my skin but I felt at peace. My anxiety washed away with each passing wave and I allowed my mind to wander. So many thoughts came to the surface. Thoughts about my goals, my relationship and where I see my life in the next 10 years. For the first time in a while, I allowed my mind to wander to creative places and found new inspiration. I know it is not just me, but I get so caught up in my daily routine that I don’t allow myself to fully let go. So as I sat there in the sand watching each wave leave the shore, I let those little things go, and made room in my life for something new.
We had the best day on Saint-Jean beach in St. Barth’s. Stay tuned for later this week, I will be sharing a guide to 5 hours on the island. Everyone had to drag me back onto the boat. I could have stayed on that island forever. I wore my new Marysia bikini the entire day with a high waisted maxi skirt and sandals. To say I am obsessed with my new suit would be an understatement. I have been lusting over Marysia’s designs for over 2 years now and I finally decided this girls trip was the perfect time to pick it up. I contemplated on getting this one piece, but Mackenzie talked me into the bikini with a quote from her Grandy- “You have your entire life to wear a one-piece, wear a bikini while you can.” She really is a genius.

We were up bright and early when the boat docked on St. Thomas. Mackenzie and I were pretty excited about our excursion for the day: swimming with dolphins. Naturally, we had to grab a few ice coffees before hoping off the boat (a necessary stop after a few too many glasses of rosé the night before). Swimming with dolphins has always been on my bucket list, so you can imagine my excitement when Mackenzie told me we were hoping on a small boat to check it off my list. I have to say, it exceeded my expectations. The dolphins were so smart and friendly and the entire time I was in the water, I looked like a kid in a candy store.
When packing for this trip, I knew I had to bring my Rag and Bone romper I scooped up at Intermix last year during my surprise birthday trip to West Palm Beach. Thankfully for you guys, it is still available at a few stores and I am thinking about getting the marigold color too because I wore this one all summer long. The silk and classic silhouette make it so easy to throw on but still look put together.

When Mackenzie invited me to go on a 8-day Caribbean cruise, I jumped at the chance for a little R&R and to soak up a little sunshine. Our first stop was a private island near the Bahamas. We spent the day playing in the water, reading magazines and sipping margaritas. It was the perfect kick off to our event-filled vacation.
You may have seen my packing list last week, but if you missed it, my carry-on was full of white pieces that I could mix and match. There is something so casual and cool about an all white ensemble. Lately, I have been especially obsessed with off the shoulder tops (I brought three…excessive? I think not). I scooped up this one on sale right before I left. I love how it is a little structured, so it can be worn casual with shorts or in a dressier setting tucked into a skirt. Another thing I could not live without on this trip was my Mar y Sol Beach bag. It made for the perfect travel companion and was the perfect size for a towel, magazines and the rest of my beach essentials.
