BEACH DAY IN ‘SCONSET

J.McLaughlin Tunic

On Sunday, Patrick and I headed to the beach in the late afternoon to soak up a little sun (covered in sunscreen, of course) and relax before the week started.  If there is one thing we are missing living in Dallas, it is definitely the beach.  There is something so peaceful about listening to the waves crash onto the shore.

The weather has been absolutely perfect since we arrived on the island, so we have been making frequent trips to the beach. Here are a few of my beach day essentials:

The One Piece

I stocked up on a few one piece suits for the summer.  This red one has been my favorite and I also have it in black (last seen here). I also got this cute one for the 4th of July, but will be wearing it all summer.  In addition to my one pieces, I brought along this bikini and this one.

The Cover Up

Since we are just going from the house to the beach down the road and back, an easy coverup is essential.  I have been loving this coverup from J.McLaughlin. The tassels are so cute and its the perfect length for this petite girl. I also love that it can be worn as a top with white jeans too! I also can’t get enough of my Levis. I have been wearing them non-stop all summer.

A Sun Hat

If there was one item I try not to forget when heading to the beach; it’s a sun hat.  I have also been loving this wide brim hat to keep my face covered from the sun. The older I get, the more I realize the importance of sun protection.

Sunscreen

Before we left for Hawaii, I decided to try Supergoop sunscreen and I have become obsessed with their product line.  Not only is the SPF 50 great for overall coverage, I LOVE the serum for under or over my makeup everyday.

A Beach Bag

Somehow I have collected quite a few beach bags the last couple summers, but the most versatile has to be the LL Bean Tote.  While I love cute ones like this that I am currently using on Nantucket, the canvas bag with a zipper is key to fitting all of the essentials without having to dump sand out of your bag at the end of the day. Add a monogram and you are set! Thanks to my gf, Amy, for the cute net bag, I have been using this to carry my book, and sunscreen.
