Remember last week when I posted about my exciting trip to New York? Well, I am excited to share a fun project I worked on with some blogging friends Hallie, Devon, Natalie, and Mel for Sauza Sparkling Margaritas and GLAM.  The five of us girls headed to Atlantic Beach for a fun girls weekend. The house we stayed in was absolutely amazing (seriously my dream kitchen, well and everything else), but the friends I made were even better. All of us girls had an absolute blast, especially ending the night with a big splash by Hallie

The weekend started after we got all dolled up, of course everyone had the cutest outfits. It was too funny that we all ended up color coordinating (I swear this was completely random). I wore a pair of Joie lace shorts, a Madewell silk tank, this Anthropolgie necklace, and my favorite Zara heels; which ended up being the perfect outfit for an outdoor dinner and drinks.

After getting ready, we headed down to the kitchen for a few Sauza Sparkling Margaritas and some simple apps.  Devon and I made some delicious guacamole (my favorite recipe is below) and couldn’t resist having a few bites before everything was finished. We made a simple, fresh mexican fiesta and of course had plenty of Sauza Sparkling Margaritas.  My favorite flavor is the Original Lime.  The margaritas all have the perfect amount of bubbles and are ready- to- serve which makes the prep as easy as ever!

My ideal Girls Night involves making everything simple so I can actually enjoy the night rather than stressing in the kitchen. We all chipped in and helped with the prep which ended up being my favorite part of the day. Of course, we always had a glass of Sauza Sparkling Margaritas by our sides.

Our dinner so delicious and the stories that were told made my face hurt for days from all of the laughing! We made fish tacos, fresh grilled corn, an arugula salad, and the most amazing dessert (I will spare you the details, but let me just tell you it was so delicious)- especially with the Wild Berry flavor margarita.

After dinner, we decided to take the party poolside and continue the night with some more drinks!  The weather was absolutely beautiful and the perfect night to dance and splash around by the pool.  One of the girls made some delicious fruit popsicles that were the perfect side kick to my Original Lime Sauza Sparkling Margarita.

It was seriously an incredible weekend, and one I will never forget.  I hope you enjoy the video! For a little inside on how to plan a Girls Night, check this out!

Here is the recipe for my favorite guacamole:

2 whole avocados

1 ripe tomato (or a package of grape tomatoes )

1 white onion

1 clove of garlic

a handful of cilantro

1/4 cup of fresh squeezed lime juice and a sprinkle of salt

All you do is smash the avocados, mix in the chopped tomatoes, onion and garlic, sprinkle the cilantro and pour on the fresh lime juice and salt and serve! I like to dip either warm tortilla chips or fresh carrots, and you are all set!

So I know this is not exactly as of late, but I have been wanting to share a few shots from behind the scenes of a little video shoot I was a part of in Atlantic Beach with some seriously talented bloggers, Devon, Natalie, Hallie and Mel for Sauza Tequila and Back in June, I headed up to New York for a quick trip that ended up being an experience I will never forget It was such a blast meeting some of my new BFF4L, and being a part of something really special.  The entire staff was fabulous and since this was my first time really being in front of the camera (for a really long time), everyone made us feel like movie stars for the day/night.  After almost 12 hours of shooting we wrapped with Hallie making a big splash into the pool. Stay tuned to see the entire video!

Natalie, Hallie and Mel did some really cute recaps too! Check ’em out.

Sorry for the lack of “Lately” pictures today, honestly not much exciting happened over here this past weekend.  I spent most of the weekend at work and some did major lounging the other part of the weekend.  I am excited for this week to be a little slower pace and enjoy the warm weather (finally!).  Lindsay and I are headed to happy hour tomorrow and Patrick arrives on Thursday- so I have a lot to look forward to this week.

Today, I plan to take a deep breath, dig out of a long list of emails, and try for an early night at home.  In the meantime, check out these beautiful pictures from the extrememly talented, Jamie of Ann Street Studio.  If I lived in New York, this event would be my dream, I mean endless bottles of Veuve Clicquot… yes, please.

Happy Tax day! Just kidding, hopefully every one has turned in those brutal forms and is in the clear.  This weekend just flew right by, probably because it was jam packed with work, events and family time. I kind of feel like I need a few days to relax after my weekend, but instead I am off and running again.  This week is the going to be a nuts finalizing all of the last little details of our big charity event on Saturday (thankfully Patrick is coming in town to help with the heavy lifting!)

So back to the weekend; Saturday afternoon Michele and I (thanks to La Crema Wines) ventured downtown for a preview of Dining by Design and enjoyed a panel full of experts in the event and entertaining worlds. I was blown away by some of the theme interpretations and the effort that goes into making an event like this happen. We chatted with a few designers and snapped some photos of the space.

Halleluiah it’s Friday, friends! This has been one long and exhausting week, and I am sure ready for the weekend.  Tonight I am excited to lay low so I can go workout in the morning and then head to the Gallery for Conversations in Dining, thanks to La Crema Wines.  The panel is the pre-event to DIFFA’s Dining by Design later in the night.  The event is open to the public and you can go and see all of the table designs from noon- 3pm and hear from some of Kansas City’s top experts in lifestyle and design. So if you are in the KC area you should definitely stop by and check it out.

Ever want a healthy snack that is also really easy to make? Well, this isn’t very healthy but it is surely delicious and easy to make.  I decided to try a few popcorn recipe for my friend Michelle’s Oscar Party this past Sunday. Since the best part about watching the Oscars is watching the red carpet, drooling over Bradley Cooper, the popcorn and champagne, the popcorn bar ended up being a huge hit. I whipped up three different flavors, that included parmesan and thyme, s’mores, and standard brown butter and sea salt. Each person got their own individual brown bags to snack out of and if I do say so myself- it was delish!

Weekend Wardrobe- American Royal Barbecue

This weekend was full of Fall events and some major house hunting in Kansas City.  I experienced my first American Royal Barbecue, which lived up to all of my expectations.  More barbecue than I could ever imagine, a few too many Hot Toddies and dancing to stay warm, started off our weekend right.  Then CiderFest in Louisburg did not disappoint with delicious hot apple cider, donuts, and the perfect pumpkins for a little fall decor in the apartment.  It was a great weekend, shared with great friends.  Unfortunately, we still did not find a house, so the hunt continues…

The Fairest of them All

My favorite weekend of the year is finally here.  If you were wondering what it was… it’s the Plaza Art Fair this weekend in Kansas City.  There will be 240 artists from all over the US showing their work this in my neck of the woods.  I am not gonna lie, it is not all about the art this weekend, about 30 restaurants from the Plaza will have pop up tents with awesome food and drinks and 3 stages with live music each night.  Let’s just say it is the best weekend of the year and to make it better, the weather is going to be amazing. I am on the hunt for a large scale painting for my dining room, so wish me luck!

Gallery Girls

Tonight I was invited to attend the opening of a new event space called, The Gallery.  It’s kind of funny but I turned on Bravo the other night and the new show Gallery Girls was on.  The show is about a bunch of young girls trying to make it in the world of art and they all come from different backgrounds (Upper East Side to Brooklyn).  Having studied Art History in college, I have an appreciation for this show. But it is definitely going to be drama- filled like all of the other typical Bravo shows. Check it out on Mondays on BRAVO at 10/9 central.

The Treeline Heel

This past Sunday I attended an event at Madewell with some good friends and fabulous bloggers.  Two of the darling girls that work at the Leawood store were wearing these cuties above and I decided I had to have them.  Happy to my surprise they were on sale and an extra 30% off- in my book it was a no brainer that I had to get them.  Not only are they comfortable, but they go with just about any outfit and are probably going to be my new go to shoe.  If you like them as much as I do, you can get the Treeline Heel online, and guess what? They are on sale
