Today is the last day before the last year of my 20s. How did I get here? Most of the time I still feel like that 18 year old girl saying goodbye to her parents as they dropped me off at college. How has it been ten years since that day? Tomorrow, I turn 29 and I have so many feelings about my last year of my 20s.
It’s official, I’m never leaving Nantucket. This past weekend was non-stop fun! We celebrated Mackenzie’s wedding shower in Newport, had dinner and a few too many laughs at Ventuno (I would highly recommend!), explored Cliff Road and Steps Beach, enjoyed lobster rolls at Galley Beach and then ended the day watching the sunset at Ladies Beach.
More snaps from the weekend:
I am currently sitting at my “temporary” desk staring out the window at bushes of beautiful blooming hydrangeas–say that three times fast. Things could be worse around here ;)
We are having so much fun exploring Nantucket. The other day we took Molly, Zoey and Mackenzie’s cockapoo, Rory to Sesachacha Pond for their first ever swim. They were very hesitant at first, but the second Patrick got in the water, they were naturals. All three pups could have spent hours chasing the ball and swimming around. My heart melted into a million pieces.
Sweet, sweet summertime (oh and 90 degree temps are officially here to stay). If there is one thing I love about summer, it’s summer Fridays and a reason to get our friends together. Well, this week kicked off Negroni Week and not only can you enjoy a delicious cocktail, but you will also be supporting a good cause! With over 20 charities and 6,000 participating restaurants around the world, Negroni Week is the perfect reason to find a patio this weekend!
This weekend was one for the books! Patrick and I packed our bags and headed to New York for a quick weekend trip to see family and friends.
The main reason for the trip was to attend the Veuve Clicquot Polo Classic with Amy and Mackenzie. This event has been on my bucket list and it was everything I could have dreamt of and more. From the picture perfect weather, beautiful people, champagne cocktails, and of course, the polo match, the day could not have been more perfect!
Two years ago, Mackenzie invited me on my first trip to Nantucket and I instantly fell in love with the ever-so-charming island off the coast of Massachusetts. So when Mackenzie and I were having our weekly catch-up (I am still in denial that she doesn’t live in Dallas anymore) and planning a few trips for the summer, she joked about how she wished we could just move to the East Coast for the summer.
A few phone calls and about 10 minutes later, we are officially headed to Nantucket for the month of July–and the pups are coming along, too!
Entertaining is in my genes. My great grandma was the one who taught me the importance of sharing time with family and friends over a meal. Her number one rule was to enjoy the time and never stress about the little details. So, when Pier 1 Imports asked me to host a block party for some friends, I couldn’t wait to share the details.
It is crazy to think it has been two years since we said I do. It feels like yesterday, I was getting ready with all “my people” before walking down the isle to marry my best friend. Patrick and I have been together for nine years and today we are celebrating our second wedding anniversary.
