Is anyone else having a hard time believing we are already in Mid-August? With the new season quickly approaching I have been scoping out all of my favorite sites for new arrivals. I think I am still in denial that I am going back to Dallas and the weather will not be fall-like until early October, but the thought of a cozy cashmere is getting me pretty excited!
TGIF! This has been a crazy work week and with my birthday landing in the middle, the week flew right by! This is the first weekend without Patrick and the pups and I am a getting a little teary-eyed thinking about heading to the beach without them. I plan to soak up some major sun time and explore around town with Mackenzie and Will.
Mackenzie comes back to Nantucket today from a quick trip off the island for her dress fittings. I am excited to have my roomie back in town. Her return is the perfect excuse for a late afternoon dip in the ocean!
I have been on a major online shopping binge since being on the island since there is limited in-store shopping. However, I have been doing a little window shopping at CJ Laing, Ralph Lauren, Shift, Milly and Grace and Erica Wilson.
Maybe it’s just me, but I have been having a major urge to go on a little shopping spree. The stores are having amazing sales to make room for their pre-fall collections and I can’t help but get sucked into filling my cart with the steals of the century (okay, maybe this is a little overboard, but hey, a girls gotta do what a girls gotta do). Thankfully, I have at least three more months of warm weather before I really start wearing anything Fall-like.
The sale of the century is here–ha, just kidding! But in all honestly, The Nordstrom Anniversary sale has officially kicked off and I have scoured the pages of the sale and have found my must-have items. The list is extensive, but if you are anything like me, I love an excuse for a great deal on something I would be purchasing for the season anyways.
With over 70 PAGES of products, it can get really overwhelming to shop for what you really need/want. For me, during these types of SALES I always look for the classics, or what I like to call the investment pieces. This way I don’t end up with a bunch of random sweaters and dresses that 1. I don’t really need and 2. I can’t mix and match with what is already in my closet. Here is a breakdown of my must-have items from the sale.
I don’t know if it is the fact that I am dressing for different weather than Dallas, but I have filling my cart with so many new arrivals and sale items this week.
After cleaning out my closet this weekend, I have lots of empty hangers ready for new, pretty things. Honestly, what I realized after my major purge was that I was only missing a few key pieces to make my closet complete. But if I am being realistic, I will probably fill up the rest of the empty hangers before the end of the year ;)
Is anyone else ready for the official kick-off to pool season, cutoff shorts, juicy watermelon and songs of the summer? We will be spending our memorial day weekend with some great friends up in the mountains for a wedding. If it wasn’t supposed to be in the low 50s and rainy in Colorado, I would definitely be wearing a swimsuit my new shorts. I seriously cannot get enough of my perfect fitting Levis. They were definitely a little bit of a splurge, but after looking for the perfect fit for over a year, I have to say, they were worth every penny.
