Do you know what happens when you spend about a month in New York City? Well, you are about to find out.

SeptemberinNewYork_2 SeptemberinNewYork_5

I spent 3 weeks in the city that never sleeps this month (hence the radio silence) and experienced it like never before thanks to two weddings and my favorite city expert, Mackenzie.  My month in New York started with a wedding just outside the city, but a quick stop to Shake Shack and a stroll through SoHo were a must.

( What I wore to NYFW: Shirtdress, Rag and Bone Booties, Celine Bag (similar), Club Monaco Scarf, Celine Sunglasses, Bracelets)

(Day 2: Black Pants, Top (on sale!), Celine Bag (Similar), Celine Sunglasses)

The next week, Mackenzie and I jetted back to the city for a week full of fashion, food and all of her favorite local spots. We walked everywhere, took a pedi-cab from Midtown to Chelsea (I hope you saw our Snapchats!), and ate our way through the city.  I had the best time and I am so lucky to have a new friend to share these memories with! Stay tuned for our next adventure, Nantucket.

The following weekend, Patrick and I headed back to the city for a friend’s wedding. We stayed in Tribeca, which was a first for us. I loved being so close to the water and spending time with great friends in the city.

Here is my mini-guide to Manhattan:

More Travel Details: West Palm Beach, San Diego, Nashville, and more

PalmBeach_6PalmBeach_13Something new is coming to A Dash of Details.  Many of you have been asking about all of our frequent travels, so I decided to bring back my Travel Details series. I will feature our favorite places we have been, where to stay, eat and shop.

I decided to kick off the new series with our recent trip to West Palm Beach.  Patrick surprised me with a trip for my 27th birthday.  I couldn’t believe he kept the surprise until we arrived at security in Dallas.  We landed in West Palm Beach in the afternoon and headed straight to the beach. Here are a few of our favorite places.

Where to Stay:

Four Seasons Palm Beach

The Breakers Palm Beach Hotel

The Colony Palm Beach

Where to Eat:

AB&D Kitchen at the Four Seasons:  Casual outdoor menu overlooking the water. If you like sushi, you must try the Tuna Tostada. Just trust me!

Cafe Via Flora: This little café is hidden behind Worth Avenue inside one of the eight vias (or alleys). The italian style cafe has amazing sandwiches and salads, and of course no meal is complete without parmesan truffle fries. Calories don’t count when your on vacation, right?

Palm Beach Grill: Known as one of the hot spots on the island, this Hillstone restaurant did not disappoint and either did the people watching.  Bring your appetite, the portions are large.

Ta-boo: This classic Palm Springs spot is an iconic spot on the famous Worth Avenue shopping district! We popped in after shopping for a drink and happy hour bites.  Old school cocktails and black and white stripe decor scream Palm Beach style.  We loved the Fried Green tomatoes and pimento cheese.

Būccan: If you are going to make reservations at one restaurant, this one is a must! This was the most recommended restaurant by everyone we met. We decided to try the popular spot for my birthday dinner and it did not disappoint.  Known for its small plate menu, this restaurant takes you on an exquisite food journey.

HMF: Situated inside the historic Breakers Hotel and named after the famous Henry Morrison Flagler this bar/restaurant has you traveling back in time to the golden era of Palm Beach.  Get ready to be overwhelmed by the amazing wine wall and list.

Seafood Bar: We headed into the Seafood Bar for on last meal before heading back home. Sit at the bar and watch the fish swim by under your delicious bacon infused Bloody Mary.

What to Do:

Take a beach cruiser down Ocean Avenue. Stop to take in the amazing homes situated right on the water.  Also, if you are staying downtown, ride your bike by the Flagler Museum (it is worth the trip!).

Shop on Worth Avenue (or window shop): This famous shopping area is filled with the most incredible selection of designer brands.

Relax on the beach with a cocktail in your hand.  I mean, what else could be better than that!

LoandSonsBag4th of July

You might be reading this while I am in the car roadtrippin’ to Austin for the weekend to celebrate the 4th of July.  The is the start to one crazy July for me, which includes living out of a suit case for pretty much the entire month.  This weekend, I decided to pack light and fit everything into my Lo and Son’s Catalina bag. You’ve heard me talk about my love for my Lo and Son’s bag before, but it is seriously my go-to when packing for overnight trips. My favorite is the bottom zipper compartment because I can fit 2 or 3 pairs of shoes, and some of my beauty products which keeps the top compartment organized.  The worst part about packing an overnight bag is feeling like you have to throw everything out of your bag just to find that one top (I know you guys are with me on that one!).  Since this weekend is all about the red, white and blue, I decided to keep my wardrobe very patriotic-chic.  I told you in this post, my closet is lacking the red department, but I figured some NARS Lipstick and a few bracelets will do the trick!

I hope all you lovies have a happy and safe holiday!  xox.

While almost every blogger I know is headed down south to my new hometown, I will be jet setting to San Diego for a fun-filled wedding weekend, with my MOH survival kit in tow.  I guess this being my first time as an MOH, I didn’t know what to expect, other than the fact that the bride-to-be is not only family but one of my best friends.  Naturally, a destination wedding called for some major shopping sprees (and thanks to the Shopbop Sale, I scored almost everything I needed for the weekend). I plan on wearing crochet cover ups and cute swimsuits during the day and flowy dresses with my new favorite sandals at night. I am just so giddy thinking about this long weekend.

And we’re off…again…

This time we are headed to sunny Scottsdale for a quick trip with a major wedding to-do list in front of us.  Hopefully we will be checking some of the big things off our list, like setting a date! Our hopes are to sprinkle in a little golf, hiking, and of course some quality family time.

I honestly do not know what I am more excited for, A. starting the wedding planning process or B. getting out of this horribly cold weather.  I am definitely packing some shorts for this trip to 75 degrees and sunny (jealous yet?)

I will be hitting the slopes this year for NYE this year and there are a few essentials that I always bring when skiing.  Keeping warm is a must, and we had to bring a few goodies to ring in 2014.

Wear sequins, party all night or stay in your sweats and drink by the fire?  Are you the party girl or like to stay in with friends for New Years Eve? This year my plans involve the later. We will be spending the New Year up in the mountains.  After skiing all day the last thing I want to do is throw on a pretty party dress and heels.  Don’t get me wrong, I love a good cocktail dress, but this year is all about starting the new year off Relaxed & Rested (okay, let’s be honest it will actually start on Jan. 2nd because this girl loves her bubbles and I am sure I will have at least a few glasses by the fire).

If you are headed to a friend’s house to ring in the New Year; instead of bringing a bottle of champagne try a thoughtful gift that everyone will enjoy. I have teamed up with the folks at Sesame to launch their new CELEBRATE gift set. This “Party in a Box” is the perfect gift to bring to a party or even to buy for yourself. The box is filled with all of the essentials you would need for any NYE party.

If you are not familiar with Sesame, it is a boutique gift shop in your pocket and makes thoughtful gifting effortless for anyone on the go.  Each gift set is expertly curated and themed to deliver a beautifully unique gifting experience.  You can download SESAME GIFTS for iPhone here or browse gifts online here.  Sesame is giving ADOD readers not one, but THREE lucky winners their very own CELEBRATE Gift Set just in time to ring in the new year. The iPod speaker is my personal favorite, see the rest of what is inside below. All you have to do is fill out the Rafflecopter for your chance to win.  The winner will be announced on Christmas Eve (December 24th) to make sure the gift sets are delivered before December 31st!

Thanks to Sesame, they are offering ALL A Dash of Details readers $5 off any gift set of your choice, just use the code dashofdetails here to redeem your discount. Happy Shopping!

When it comes to packing and travel there is nothing better than feeling completely organized and prepared for your trip. Tomorrow I leave for an entire week to sunny Austin to spend some time with some of my favorite people. The girls will be shopping until we drop, drinking wine and laughing until our belly’s hurt.

Thankfully I will be missing super busy Thanksgiving rush at the airport, but I still cannot wait to travel for the first time with my new TRUFFLE Petite Clarity pouch. There is nothing worse than pulling out a plastic baggy that ripped right before you go through security and all of your lip gloss, mascara, perfume, etc. falls out all over your bag. The TRUFFLE pouch is TSA Friendly so you can just drop it in your carry on to make it easy as one, two, three. Three ounce bottles fit perfectly in these too, so if you plan to bring your face wash, shampoo and conditioner, the pouch is perfect and your liquids will be sure not to leak into your bag! I haven’t even traveled with the TRUFFLE yet, and I am already obsessed. My next purchase is the Classic Clarity to keep my wallet, keys and all of my other loose things in my purse in one place. Talk about organization at its finest. Since we are all about gifting on A Dash of Details this week, these would make the perfect gift for any family member or your travel savvy friends!

Finally after weeks of traveling, we will be staying in this weekend.  It is really crazy to think we have been gone almost every weekend this entire summer. And I am in need of a little “me” time. With the holidays approaching quickly (yes, Thanksgiving and Black Friday are only three weeks away!) I want to spend as much time relaxing, eating healthy, and playing with the pups as possible.

This weekend, my plan is to start my new book, take a bubble bath, and make some yummy recipes from my new Lemonade LA Cookbook. Not to mention loads and loads of laundry, but really who wants to talk about laundry (: So instead, I will spare you the dirty details- yes, pun intended.

Soft Joie Pants / Soft Joie Sweatshirt / Fresh Facemask / Kai Oil Perfume / Warby Parker Glasses / Mary Green Eye Mask / Essie Penny Talk / Essie Good to Go Top Coat / Alexa Chung It Book / Nike Free Run / Club Monaco Cashmere Scarf / Shopbop Basic Texting Gloves
