And I am off again, this time to sunny San Diego for one of my best friend’s bachelorette party.  I am sure the weekend will be filled with trips down memory road, lingerie parties, and lots of booze (I probably should have added a bottle of Advil to my packing list).   Happy Friday!

So yesterday I posted about my trip to New York and today I thought I would share a few snapshots from the rest of my week long vacay.  I met up with Patrick and a few of our friends in Nashville last weekend and we had an absolute blast.  My girlie, Jessica gave me some great recommendations on local places to go eat, shop, and listen to great music- all of her suggestions were seriously amazing.

Have any of you ever been to Nashville? If not it should definitely move to the top of your list.  I LOVED this city.  We stayed at the most darling bed and breakfast in the 12 South area, which seems to be an up and coming area with great restaurants and cute stores.  Some of my favorites were Burger Up– they had the most delicious spicy Bloody Mary’s. I stopped by Las Paletas, the most darling fresh fruit popsicle shop next door, everyday…oops! Patrick’s favorite stop on our street was the Filling Station, naturally his favorite because it was a store that only sold beer.

Imogene and Willie was a shop in the 12 South district, and the best curated store I have ever seen. From the outside to the inside everything has thoughtful, hand picked and had a purpose.  From the wall full of Warby Parkers, to their own salvage denim, and selected home goods.  We really wanted everything but landed on this Apothecary Matchstick bottle for our coffee table.  We stopped into some really neat vintage stores, and walked around downtown Franklin.

Of course we had to head to Downtown Nashville to experience a little Honky Tonk and be tourist at the Ryman Auditorium. We really tried to spend most of our time in the local spots, which was really fun and we were able to hear some great local music.  I am sure (I KNOW) we will be back again soon.

I have now been back from New York and Nashville for a week, but I never had a chance to post these snapshots from my trip to the city that never sleeps.  The pictures I took, really do not do my trip any justice.  I had such an amazing three days in the city, that left me feeling completely inspired.  I was so lucky to have spent time with my fav cousin, catch up with two of my Aunts, and enjoy some time in Atlantic Beach with the Glam Team and some amazing bloggers-which was the actual reason why I was in New York, and I will be dishing all of the exciting things that happened soon!

I spent the days roaming the city by myself. At first I thought I would be nervous to be alone, but there is something about New York that makes me feel confident. I walked pretty much everywhere I went from SOHO to the Upper West Side, to the Meatpacking district back to Chelsea.  I love how every area has a completely different vibe, and in each place I had a completely different experience.

My favorite spots included dinner at ABC Kitchen– the food was incredible and the conversation was even better, Stopping by the Elizabeth and James‘ offices (thanks to all of the girls for being so nice and especially for all of the goodies). I wandered around SOHO on my last day and stopped into Paul Smith to see my cousin’s darling office- being surrounded by clothes while I worked would decrease my productivity by a million, then walked across the street to see the BaubleBar shop- and almost caved and bought one of these Sarah Chloe bangles and this pinky ring.  We grabbed a bite to eat at BREAD, which was this cute little spot in NOHO, then I headed to the Highline for the first time.  I had heard so much the amazing walkway, but seeing it myself was breathtaking.

Are any of you lovelies from NYC?  I will be headed back there in September, and I would love any recommendations about where to go next time!

Concrete jungle is calling my name tomorrow which happens to be a last minute addition to our travel itinerary this summer.  When I think about packing for Manhattan, I think the classics- white and black.  The temps are heating up in the Big Apple so I want to make sure I am comfortable and cool while I walk the city, so comfy shoes are a definite must have.  My suit case is filled with a structured bag, classic shift dresses, distressed denim, and fun accessories for a pop of color.

Well, I am finally back and am ready for a brand new week, maybe still wishing I was still in sunny San Diego. Let’s talk about perfect weather in southern California. This past weekend was full of sunshine, lots of love, and a wedding full of beautiful details.  From a gorgeous hotel, to amazing fresh food, poolside reading, and bridal suite primping; my week was full of some of my favorite things.

My first day was full of rest and relaxation at the pool in this new swim suit and my book (I know I am behind the times, but I love it!), Patrick and I enjoyed a day of exercise and a little shopping (I found this and this at Anthropologie), Friday was the ultimate girls day with a Mexican fiesta to kick off the wedding weekend, and the big day was spent in the bridal suite getting our makeup and hair done and spending a special day with the bride to be. The wedding was absolutely beautiful, down to every last detail.

As I take off to San Diego for the weekend, I realized how many trips I have planned for this summer (thanks to P and the crazy amount of weddings we both have) we will be jet setting almost every other weekend until September. Starting last week with my trip to San Fran, I am back to sunny California for my cousins wedding. Thankfully I took off a few days early so I could enjoy some R&R on the beach.

I thought it would be fun to document my travels on the blog, so a few Travel Details post followed by some Lately snapshot posts will be popping up all summer long.

Our Travel Itinerary (Note: If you live in any of these cities, I would love some suggestions on restaurants, things to do, or favorite places to go because honestly we are pretty clueless when it comes to most of these places)

San Diego / Nashville / Los Angeles / New York / Austin / Scottsdale / Chicago

So to kick off the travel series with San Diego, there are certain travel essentials I always bring with me on every trip. A pair of jeans, white and grey v-neck tees, maxi dress, denim jacket, but when it comes to the beach my suitcase always gets pretty full of fun prints, too many swimsuits, the perfect hat, and a summer scarf for night.

Earlier this week I headed west for a work trip to San Fran to meet with a few folks and my boss.  I really can’t believe it but I have never been to San Francisco before. The city is wonderful and honestly I did not want to leave.  From the weather to the shopping to the culturally diverse people, that city is really like no where else in the US.  I left full, inspired, and ready for my next adventure.

The classic Golden Gate Bridge shot from our last day in San Fran

The food was incredible at every meal.  We had a latte La Boulange, sushi (I wish I remembered the name) at a local spot near the ballpark, street tacos in Mission at La Taquerilla, brunch at the Grove, and chow mein at R and G’s in Chinatown.

Walked our way through city getting lost at every turn (all of which was completely unplanned) Union Square, Notting Hill, Fisherman’s Warf, China Town, and ATT Park were a few of the places we stopped.

The last day we played tourist and hopped on a cable car, stopped at Lomard Street and walked across the Bridge.

So I know I have been a little MIA, but it was all for good reasons.  Late last week I headed up to Ohio and Pittsburgh to finally see where Patrick has been living for the last 6 months (yes, I know I must be a bad gf, since he comes home about every other weekend).  I had no idea what to expect of Pittsburgh, and I was pleasantly surprised with all of the awesome things to do, even despite the cold weather.  Pittsburgh is an extremely active city. The entire weekend there were tons of people running, riding bikes and walking their dogs through the streets in South Side.  If you follow me on Instagram, you probably noticed our weekend consisted of a lot of beer drinking and eating. All of which was AMAZING! We stayed right downtown in a beautiful historical hotel, did a little shopping (or maybe a lot of shopping), ventured to the Andy Warhol Museum where I was able to snap one photo inside before being yelled at (oops- I really didn’t know I wasn’t allowed to have my camera out), took a peek inside the Pirates Ballpark, drank a flight of beer at Church Breworks– this was an old cathedral that has been turned into a brewery, had an amazing dinner with a view at Isabella on Grandview (rated one of the most romantic restaurants in the US), and strolled around Mt. Washington.  Mt. Washington was probably my favorite place we went on the entire trip.  The neighborhood is so quaint, and the view is unbeatable.  You can see the entire city from these neat outlook points all the way up the mountain. They make for a great photo op too! Any who, it was a great long weekend and I was sad to leave but I am back and ready for some fun things and a short work week!

Thankful In Austin

This past week I was in Austin, TX spending time with family and realizing how thankful I am to have such wonderful people surrounding and supporting me.  Our week started out at the S Ranch, the family ranch just a few miles outside of Austin, and it never disappoints.  Lots of great wine and food, and of course hunting for the boys. There were lots of first experiences this year, new girlfriends and boyfriends ventured out to Austin for the weekend, Patrick’s first deer and my attempt at going hunting- well, sitting in the blind watching for hours on end.  Let’s just say, I don’t know when the next time I will go sit in a small room outside with no cell reception and no talking allowed..haha.

The Thanksgiving meal is always the best in Texas, everything is fresh and homemade including turkey in can, chicken-fried venison, and famous Bloody Mary’s by Uncle Greg. Naps and football filled our day on Thursday, Friday we ventured out to the Texas vineyards and tasted great wines, Saturday we went shopping at the Domain and Sunday we took a trip down South Congress Street.  All in all, Thanksgiving was full of things to be thankful for this year.
