For the last seven years, we have been coming to my husband’s favorite place: Vail, Colorado. He has been visiting this little mountain town since he was just a little boy and introduced me to this special place one summer when we were driving my car from Scottsdale back to college. There is something so charming and extremely special about this place. This is the place where we fell in love and where I realized I wanted to marry this boy. As the years pass and the number of visits climb, I fall a little bit more in love with this town.
WHERE TO STAY
Sonnenalp (our favorite spa too!)
There are also great rental condos/home options in town
SKI AND SNOWBOARD RENTAL
Our favorite place is called Buzz’s Sports in Vail Village. The guys are super helpful and will get you set up with the best of the best.
If you are looking for somewhere in Lionshead Village, Double Diamond is right next to the chair lift!
WHAT TO DO
If you are not planning (or into) skiing or snowboarding during the day, don’t worry, there is plenty of things to do. I am more of a half day girl myself, so shopping, gallery hopping and aprés ski are my expertise. ;)
Head to Adventure ridge to go tubing, ski biking (sounds terrifying), or snowshoeing. Make sure to call ahead to book a time if you are with a large group.
Perch: One of my favorite boutiques in Vail. They carry some of my favorite brands like Vince, Clare V. and Frame Denim.

WHERE TO EAT AND DRINK
If you finished skiing for the day and are looking for a quick and casual drink in your gear, head to The Red Lion (Vail Village) or Garfinkels (Lionshead Village). If you are looking for a quick break, but are not ready to call it quits on the mountain, head to The 10th for a cocktail at the top of the Gondola.
Remedy Bar at the Four Seasons: depending on the weather, sit outside by a firepit and sip on a hot toddy.
