FIVE PAIRS OF JEANS YOU NEED THIS SPRING

White Tee and High Waisted Denim

Being someone who would rather wear jeans over anything else in her closet, I still have trouble finding that “perfect” fit. So this year it has been my goal to purge my jean drawer and find five pairs of the perfect fitting denim. I have been doing some major research (read: shopping) to find my favorite pairs for this season and beyond. While the fashion guru’s say skinnies are out and straight leg are in; I am still not convinced and my skinnies are here to stay.

Stipes and Mom Jeans

Vintage Mom Jeans

While Patrick says, he just does get the mom jean trend (definitely a ManRepeller), I am totally in love with this throw back style. The high waist is so sliming and the comfy leg is where its at! I have been rocking my ASOS petite pair on major repeat, but I just found out that Nordstrom started selling ShopRedone Vintage pairs and I placed my order yesterday to try them on. If you are looking for a pair under $100, this pair is sups cute (especially if you are petite like me!)

Rockstar Skinny Jeans

I am always on the hunt for the perfect skinny and what I found is that you get what you pay for, well in most cases. Being only 5’2, it’s so hard to find a skinny that fits tight at the ankle after you get them hemmed. Does anyone else have this issue? A few months back I was at Old Navy and finally tried on their Rockstar skinny jeans and what do you know, they not only fit perfectly in the length, but they are also only $49 (and almost always on sale). I scooped up a pair of light wash, black (only $29!)and dark denim (only $24!). A little side note: make sure to wash your jeans inside out and not to dry your skinnies, they will last so much longer this way. I do have to say, I have had this pair for 5 years and they are worth every penny.

Shorts

Honestly, since booking our flights to Hawaii I have had Spring on the brain.  Cutoffs have always been a struggle of mine. Honestly, I have been wearing the same pair of 7 for All Mankind shorts since high school. They are vintage now, right?! I can’t part ways with them because I haven’t found a pair I absolutely love.  My friend, Amy picked up two pairs of vintage Levis last summer and I was obsessed. I have been on the hunt for the perfect pair ever since.

I think these ones will be perfect for summer too! Cropped Flare Jeans

Does anyone else just love this style? I thought being a shorty, this trend was out of the question but I found a few pairs that totally work! When you get them hemmed you lose a little bit of the flare, but I still love them. I’ve styled them before here, here and here.

white cropped jeans

Not sure what it is about this style, but I just love the exposed buttons. I first saw them on Julia, and new I had to try them! I love the relaxed, crop fit and the off white works for all seasons.  Honestly, I have had a love/hate relationship with J.Crew denim.  Since I am all about the high rise jean, I think I am going to order this and this pair to test out. Stay tuned…

What are your favorite denim trends this season? I would love to hear if you guys have found “the perfect” fitting jeans!

Such great picks! I LOVE the Old Navy rockstar jeans! They’re so comfy, so cute, and such a good price! I just got a pair of Levi’s Wedgie Icon jeans and I love them — they’re a mom jean with an exposed button! (Under $100 too!) I also really want a pair of crop flares I’ve wanted a pair of the Nerd The Great jeans for MONTHS!
