Towards the end of my trip in Nantucket, Mackenzie and I decided to spend some time exploring the streets downtown. Serious #homegoals if you ask me.

Navy Dress (c/o) / Earrings /  Bag / Sandals (old from J.Crew)

I noticed towards the end of my trip, my style shifting. I wouldn’t say my style isn’t preppy but after spending so much time in the Northeast is I noticed my style shifting.  It may also be due to the fact I spent all day everyday with Mackenzie, who’s style is preppy with a capital P.

We were all on a walk earlier this summer and Mackenzie’s mom asked me how I would classify my style. At first I had my answer, but I wanted both Mackenzie and her mom to tell me what they thought my style was after spending two months together.  Mackenzie’s mom said “boho with a little preppy,” we both laughed and then Mackenzie hit the nail on the head, “classic, minimal with a hint of prep.” Think: white tees and jeans, crisp button downs, shift dresses, and cashmere sweaters.   This summer my limited wardrobe definitely fell to the preppy side.  Mackenzie’s mom even laughed after noticing I had the same striped tee in 5 different color ways that I wore on the daily.

Lily Pulitzer is one of those classic preppy, resort brands. After spending the summer on Nantucket and seeing all of the woman sporting their signature Lily prints, it was only fitting I pick up a few pieces from the beloved brand. If you have been following along for any amount of time, you know I am not a prints’ girl. So when I walked into the store, I was immediately drawn to this off the shoulder dress. While I love the fun loud prints, especially this one, I had to stick with my signature navy.
