Sweet, sweet summertime (oh and 90 degree temps are officially here to stay). If there is one thing I love about summer, it’s summer Fridays and a reason to get our friends together. Well, this week kicked off Negroni Week and not only can you enjoy a delicious cocktail, but you will also be supporting a good cause! With over 20 charities and 6,000 participating restaurants around the world, Negroni Week is the perfect reason to find a patio this weekend!
A little fact about me, I was a bartender in college (a REALLY bad bartender). I mean, I’m 5’2″ and couldn’t reach the top shelf, but thankfully I worked at a college bar where no one really minded my mediocre skills ;) Since then, one of my favorite things to do when hosting parties is to create a signature cocktail for the night. So in honor of Negroni Week, I thought it was only fitting to share two of my favorite Negroni cocktails:
THE CLASSIC NEGRONI
As if this cocktail could get any easier! 3 (well, four if you include the garnish) ingredients are needed for this delicious cocktail.
1 oz. Campari
1 oz. Cinzano 1757
1 oz. Bulldog Gin
Pour ingredients over ice into a shaker, Stir and strain in a chilled rocks glass. Garnish with an orange twist.
THE FROZEN NEGRONI
These will be a hit at any party! This frozen cocktail is my go-to for pool parties and barbecues. This will make a large batch. You can store it in the blender for easy serving.
8 oz. Campari
8 oz. Cinzano 1757
8 oz. Bulldog Gin
4 oz. Fresh Orange Juice
Combine all ingredients in the blender under combined. Garnish with an orange slice.
