SAILING IN STRIPES
One of my favorite days this summer was spent on the Endeavor. Thanks to the best host ever, Mackenzie chartered this beautiful sailboat for the day to cruise around the Nantucket Sound. There is something so unforgettable about the wind blowing in your hair, the blue water and of course, nautical stripes.
White Sweater / White Shorts / Stripe Top (c/o)/ Sandals (old-similar) / Scarf / Headband / Sunglasses
Amy, Mackenzie and I went on the boat last year and had a blast. So, when Mackenzie told me she scheduled the boat for this trip, I started planning my outfit for the next 4 months. When I said I was planning my “boat” outfit, I didn’t plan for the warm climate. I actually planned on wearing white jeans, but it was a little too warm so I ended up switching my outfit at the last minute to this white sweater and shorts. It worked out great, especially because Patrick and I ended up in coordinating stripes. I was also excited that Patrick was going to get to see the island from the sailboat for the first time. There is something romantic about being held tightly so you don’t fall over the side ;)
xox- a dash of details
Hi Ali,
Been loving all of your Nantucket posts! Mind sharing what camera + lens you are carrying in the photo above? Seems like the canon rebel t3i but not positive. Thanks so much! looking for a good camera to purchase for blog photos. Appreciate the feedback :)
Hi Kela! Thank you so much! The one I am holding in the pictures is a Rebel T3i with a 18-55mm lens. The camera I shoot with 95% of the time is a Canon 60D Mark III with an 85mm 1.2 lens. If you are just starting out, the Rebel with a 50mm lens is great. I would definitely recommend upgrading to a fixed lens when purchasing any camera.:) Feel free to email me at adashofdetailsblog@gmail.com if you have any specific questions. I would love to help!
Thanks so much Ali :)
I love those pull on shorts from J.Crew! I have a couple of pairs myself and design is so comfortable genius. Also, you and Amy look like you could be twins!
What cute photos! I love being out on the water!
