A few months back I attended a luncheon with Tata Harper, the creator of the all natural beauty line. I was fortunate enough to sit next to her during the lunch and learned a great deal about natural beauty, wellness and the importance of skincare. I should start by saying her skin was glowing, but more importantly she was the most kind and generous lady. I was so happy to have met the women who created such wonderful products.
During the luncheon we were all chatting and I asked Tata about her daily skincare routine. Honestly, I am such a newbie when it comes to the wellness movement, so I was soaking up every last bit of information from the expert herself. Before her deep dive into the products she uses, she first explained her vitamin regimen and how the nutrients you put in your body are just as important than what you put on your skin. I seriously started taking notes on my phone (nerd alert) and made a shopping list at the table. I can barely hold myself accountable to take a daily vitamin let alone a regimen, so baby steps.
After we got a little sidetracked with discussions about crystals, Primrose, dry brushing and meditation, we hopped back onto the skincare talk. Guys, I am not joking that Tata’s skin is flawless. So, what better way to learn about the products from the gal that has been using them for ten years.
After hearing about her must-have products and the order she puts them on her skin, I decided to challenge myself to use the seven products for two months. Before using these products my typical morning and night routine consisted of cleanser and moisturizer, so seven steps felt like A LOT to me at first. I have to say it has been a little over two months and I actually get excited about my little routine. Oh and side note, it only takes me about 3 minutes to do all of the steps (minus the mask).
I only use this product once a week, but step one really does give you an “instant glow.” The resurfacing mask helps to minimize pores and smooths out your skin tone. Since my skin is on the dry side, this mask helps remove any dead skin and allows for the next products to work their magic.
If I could only bring two things with me to a deserted island, this would be one of them. The Regenerating Cleanser is honestly my favorite part of my morning and night routine. The exfoliating treatment is like a mini facial twice a day.
Want to feel refreshed? Step three not only smells amazing, but the Hydrating Essence allows the serums and moisturizer to penetrate your skin. Especially for anyone with dry skin, I highly suggest this product for extra hydration and glowy skin.
Step four is what Tata explained to be the MOST vital step for anti-aging. This treatment helps reduce the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines. It helps smooth the skins surface while filling in lines. I am definitely in the early stages of wrinkles and fine lines, but I figured I should be pro-active and help reverse all the damage I did when I was younger.
In addition to the Elixir Vitae, this eye serum does wonders for brightening my under eyes and help reduce those pesky lines around your eyes.
Tata suggested to mix step six and seven together. I typically do one pump of the Reparative Moisturizer and the Beautifying Face Oil into my palm and then smooth over my face in an upward motion. This combination allows the oil to really soak into my skin which is ideal for dry skin. I wake up in the morning and my skin still feels hydrated.
I have really enjoyed creating a routine with my skincare and I am wondering what healthy habit I should try next in my wellness journey. The experts say it only takes 21 days to create a habit. What do you think I should try next?
