According to the news, Dallas is about to get hit with an “arctic blast” tonight. Not really sure what that means, but I know a few things are for sure; I will be lighting a fire, making one of my winter soup recipes and wrapping up in comfy pjs and a blanket. Nothing gets me more in the holiday spirit than a cold winter night. Anyone else still adjusting to this whole pitch black at 5:30 thing? I am definitely not loving the shorter days but my sleep game has been on point.

I know I just posted yesterday about how excited I was about the Fall new arrivals, but I am not convinced summer is over. I am still craving a few more pool days and summer Fridays before the leaves start changing. The only thing that is ready for Fall is my closet. When we get to the end of a season and I am sick of wearing those same few “cute” tops, I am always drawn back to my basics. On any given day you will find me in some version of this outfit. Whether it be my favorite crop flares by AMO or cutoffs, my white tee is the first thing I reach for when I “have nothing to wear”.
When you think of all American style, what brand comes to mind? If you are from the East Coast than many of you would think of the brand, J.McLaughlin. The brand was started by two brothers in 1977 in Manhattan in the quintessential Upper East Side. The brands classic take on current trends is what led to their success and expansion into Texas and now 100 new stores. To me, the brand is the epitome of Southern classic style. Last week myself, Mackenzie and Amanda hosted a shopping and dinner event in Dallas with a few friends to check out the new Summer/Spring collection.
I am easing back into the week after our fun holiday weekend! I definitely ate, drank and laughed my way through the ultimate Texas holiday weekend at our families Ranch. It was so hard to wake up this morning and realize it is time to get back to work and working out. Over-indulging was the word of the weekend. *This girl loves her dips and hotdogs.
So let’s talk about my favorite outfit now. White on white is my go-to in the summer for easy dressing. Throw on a flowy top, white shorts or jeans and you look effortlessly put-together. This white tunic from Anthropologie has been on major repeat. For petite girls, it is the perfect casual top without looking too oversized. Add a little gold jewelry and you can walk out the door in a second.
Did you guys do any sale shopping this weekend? I picked up a few things from Anthropologie (SALEAWAY) and J.Crew (LONGWEEKEND) and this dress from Reformation for an upcoming trip.
