RESOLUTION_12Every year I go through the same list of goals and some times succeed and sometimes fall short for the year.  This year I only made a few (but important) goals to hopefully keep throughout 2015.  This is a big year for me with some especially exciting things I have to annouce about the blog soon. I have big dreams for this space and I really want to thank you all for coming back and reading for the last 5 years.  I know I may say this a lot but it really means the world to me to have this space to be creative and do something I love everyday. 1. Get Healthy: With our wedding around the corner (in a little less than 4 months) I am striving to get myself in shape and healthy.  I starting a new workout regimen that I cannot wait to share with you next week. Thanks to my Christmas Presents, a new Jawbone and cute workout clothes, to help me get motivated. Eating better is also on the top of my list. To me that means, I will be cooking meals at home at least 4 days a week and cutting chicken fingers and french fries (my guilty pleasure) out of my diet.  Being healthy is a lifestyle, so making sure I have enough sleep, drinking tons of water and being prepared are going to get me through this change.

2. Do something everyday to make someone smile.

3. Stay true to my signature style. The last couple years I have invested in some timeless pieces to create my signature style. To me, upgraded basics are the key to any great wardrobe.

4. Save and invest my money.  This one may be easier said than done.

5. Be Present.  Being a blogger, I am constantly plugged in. My goal is to keep my phone in my bag at dinner, put it in the bedroom at night, and focus on spending quality time with the people I am with rather than checking Instagram (I know you all do it too!).

Happy 2015. Wishing all of you a wonderful start to the New Year! SHOPTHEPOST.png

“The most colorful thing in the world is black and white, it contains all colors and at the same time excludes all.”
― Vikrmn

White has always been a go-to color for me during the summer ( I assume for most, we are in the same boat). White flowy dresses, tees, and jeans are the things I find myself drawn too when the temperatures starts to rise. I was still missing missing a white staple piece. I had my classic black blazer but there is something so chic about a white blazer when you pair it with just about anything, Insta-chic is what I like to call it. Taking style cues from one of my favorites, I ventured to Nordstrom to find the perfect one.  You would have thought I was on some sort of mission impossible because I searched the entire store, pulling every white blazer they had.  Some had shoulder pads, some were too short, and then I found what I had been looking for all this time; the perfect white blazer.

I wore this outfit on a date night with Patrick to one of our new favorite restaurants, the Porch.  It’s the perfect spot to dine al fresco, enjoy some good southern cooking, and delicious cocktails.

“I think you will agree that life’s plans are not always tied up in neat little packages. Occasionally we find ourselves at unexpected crossroads with more than one opportunity from which to choose. Time itself is often the best indicator of which decision to make, for it can tell so many thing that are now hazy.”
― Linda Lee Chaikin

So I am here today, at a crossroads.  But then again, I guess that is pretty much every girl in their mid-twenties .  Whether you are living in a small town and wanting to get out, or feeling alone in a big city; that feeling of what is next lingers in your mind. For me, it consumes my thoughts.  I know I have so much to be grateful for; I am happy and healthy, about to marry the man of my dreams, have a wonderful job and blog that I love, but yet everything else in my life feels a little like chaos. So today, I am going to take a deep breath and realized everything works out in time.

ADOD_LATELY1-25-6After a week away from the blog, I am finally back and with lots of updates. Last week I had a mini meltdown mostly due to complete exhaustion and being sick. Working full time, blogging, starting to plan a wedding, and still trying to have a life, really caught up with me; resulting in a total breakdown. Instead of pushing myself like I normally would, I decided to take a break from all the extras, focus on work and go to bed early every night. Yesterday was the first day I finally felt back to normal. Thankfully, woke up feeling completely inspired.

Also, a little side note: *I am still getting used to this new blog format and just realized that you can no longer follow me on Bloglovin’ without re-subscribing, so here you go folks- use this link to follow me on Bloglovin’. I guess it is better late than never :) Follow my blog with Bloglovin

ADOD_LATELY1-25-3That feeling of complete exhaustion started with a trip to NYC to fulfill my MOH duties for my cousin’s bachelorette party, and boy, it was great time.  I made these tote bags with each girls’ initial embroidered in her wedding colors, a bottle of champagne, a few of my favorite Essie polishes, and all sorts of pink/red lipsticks that were stuffed inside. There were lots of other fun activities, but what happens in New York, stays in New York :)

Is anyone else sick of this cold, dry weather yet? I have been dreaming I lived in California at the moment, but until that day I have been using this Tata Harper Resurfacing Mask to keep my skin healthy and smooth.

ADOD_LATELY1-25-5A few recent favorites- these Zara booties and a little lace (just in time for V-Day)

ADOD_LATELY1-25-4I think you know by now, but Patrick and I love to travel. Currently we are planning our trips for Spring (6 and counting…) Oh, and a little bubbly engagement gift from a friend.

ADOD_LATELY1-25-8I have been sipping on this lately, kind of obsessed with this grapefruit fizzy water (which is a great alternative to soda, a bad habit I am trying to kick for good)

Sorry for the insta pics, but I decided to not bring my camera on our trip to Dallas and just enjoy.  I just love that city and especially the weather! After arriving late on Friday, we headed straight to dinner at Mi Cocina for some margs and delicious Mexican food, followed by some late night shenanigans at Kung Fu. The whole gang (minus a few in the wedding party) was back together again and I have not laughed so hard in a long time.  The wedding was so beautiful down to every last detail and naturally they had to kick us off the dance floor.

As of lately:

We made a quick stop at TJ Maxx, and I scored this Rebecca Taylor jacket / A few of you asked where my dress was from- it is BCBG, a few years old / Watched a little football on the plane (Go Cheifs!) / Loving my new Catbird Rings / May or may not have stopped at Wataburger on the way out of town / Enjoying shorts weather / Having too much fun with all of the girls (and I guess Patrick too!)
