HOLIDAY LATTE RECIPE

Is there anything better than that first sip of coffee in the morning? My morning routine always starts with a fresh cup of coffee. Every morning I wake up, take a quick shower, throw in a pod into my Nespresso machine, while it brews, I feed the pups and then head into the bathroom to finish getting ready for the day.

Morning are kinda my thing.

It’s my time of the day where the house is still quiet, the dogs are running around in our backyard and I can enjoy my coffee without interruption.  Without fail, my morning routine is consistent to say the least. I wake up between 6:30-7:00, depending on if I hit the snooze a few times, hop in the shower, and head straight to the kitchen to make my first cup of coffee.  I head to my desk to press publish on my post for the day (or let’s be honest: I sit on the couch with the TODAY show in the background), check social media, and sip my coffee while I check out my favorite sites and respond to emails.  After cup number one, I continue to get ready for the rest of my day.

I would say I am somewhat of a coffee snob, I always have been, because life’s too short to drink bad coffee, right? So when my friends at Nespresso sent me over their new Nespresso VertuoLine, I couldn’t wait to try their new American full cup of coffee + authentic espresso maker. I am normally a latte kind of girl, but sometimes I just want to be able to sip on a cup of regular coffee, so needless to say I am completely obsessed.  Did I mention I am on my 2nd cup already? It is perfect for a little extra energy at about 2pm (or 10am if you are like me), especially because you can make a single cup in an instant.

What’s your morning routine look like?

It has been almost 2 months since we packed up and moved to Dallas and we have been exploring our new city ever since that day.  We have yet to try the same restaurant twice, but there are a few things that are starting to make this city feel like home. Coffee and running outside are two of those things for me.  My favorite coffee shop is right by our house and has the most delicious homemade almond milk latte. Oh, and did I mention it has a perfectly curated selection of some of my favorite brands and coffee table books.  As of late, my morning routine consists of a pit stop for coffee before sitting down to work at my desk. This has made it easier to get up and get dressed in the mornings. One of my favorites recently is an easy white linen tee, white denim and a light weight scarf.  Shawl Smith London has some of my new favorites, like this one and this one.  They are perfect for throwing on over a summer dress or a casual white tee for a pop of color.  Thanks to my friends at Shawl Smith London, they are offering all A Dash of Details readers 25% off your order by using the code: SSL25.
