We have had quite the Wednesday routine as of late.

I have been like a little energizer bunny these last few weeks, especially when it comes to Wednesdays. Patrick has been traveling for work for the last 4 weeks, so our morning routine starts extra early on these days. I have been waking up at 4:30 am on the dot every morning (note: this is so not normal for me). I have been taking advantage of this extra time that I can’t sleep to work out, write and edit blog posts, send emails from bed, and cuddle with the pups.  The early morning wake up call may have something to do with the ever growing to-do list sitting on my desk.

The thing is I am the furthest from complaining because everything on the list is either a fun, exciting projects, wedding things, or part of the job that I love to do. So I am going to just take advantage of my early bird status and rock it until it becomes a real problem.  Has anyone else out there had trouble staying asleep at night? Any recommendations?

After flipping through the pages of all of my September issues, I have decided this Fall is all about the black leather jacket.  It is the perfect transition piece from the end of Summer to Fall to Winter and will give you the perfect amount of edge.  I have been wanting a “good” one for a few years now but I have been waiting until I find the perfect one for me.  It has to be a classic style with supersoft leather, that I know will not go out of style by next season.  Last year I found one at Urban Outfitters that was the perfect cut, but not so perfect material (stay tuned for tomorrow’s post to see it in real life). I thought I always wanted a tan leather, but this year is all about the classic black. So I am going to save my pennies and purchase on of these pretty ones from above.

This and That- 4th of July

The Trend: 4th of July Style

For You: Try these darling Current/Elliot star print boyfriend shorts with a white v-neck tee for the 4th.

For Your Home:  Since you will never own the original Jasper John’s Flag because it’s in the permanent collection in the MoMA, a print of the famous flag in a cool frame will have to do.
