THE DENIM BRAND YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT
For a petite gal like me, I’m only 5’2″ for all of you that may not know me in real life, finding jeans that fit can be a feat. I have search high and low for the best fitting denim and I like to think of myself as a self proclaimed denim aficionado. ;)

10 THINGS TO BUY FROM THE NORDSTROM ANNIVERSARY SALE
The sale of the century is here–ha, just kidding! But in all honestly, The Nordstrom Anniversary sale has officially kicked off and I have scoured the pages of the sale and have found my must-have items. The list is extensive, but if you are anything like me, I love an excuse for a great deal on something I would be purchasing for the season anyways.
With over 70 PAGES of products, it can get really overwhelming to shop for what you really need/want. For me, during these types of SALES I always look for the classics, or what I like to call the investment pieces. This way I don’t end up with a bunch of random sweaters and dresses that 1. I don’t really need and 2. I can’t mix and match with what is already in my closet. Here is a breakdown of my must-have items from the sale.
Over the Knee Boots / Stripe Dress / Cashmere Sweater / Nike Sneakers / Suede Handbag / Necklace / Peplum Top / Jeans / Cardigan / RMS Beauty
STYLE DETAILS NO. 181
With just over two weeks until Mackenzie’s bachelorette party in Charleston (eeek!), I started browsing the web for some cute Spring pieces to bring on the trip. It has been over 5 years since I was last in Charleston, so I am looking forward to exploring! A little fun fact about me: Charleston is one of my favorite cities in the US. The southern charm, amazing homes and history set it at the top of my list. Oh, and of course the food and shopping don’t hurt either ;)
White Sweater / Black Sandals / JuJu Hat / French Girl Moisturizer / Redone Skirt / Keychain (hehe) / Bag / Stripe Tee / Book
FIVE PAIRS OF JEANS YOU NEED THIS SPRING
Being someone who would rather wear jeans over anything else in her closet, I still have trouble finding that “perfect” fit. So this year it has been my goal to purge my jean drawer and find five pairs of the perfect fitting denim. I have been doing some major research (read: shopping) to find my favorite pairs for this season and beyond. While the fashion guru’s say skinnies are out and straight leg are in; I am still not convinced and my skinnies are here to stay.
Mom Jeans / Rockstar Skinny / Shorts / Crop Flairs/ Buttoned Up White
DIY DENIM
Denim and Stripes. If you ask me, there is really nothing better than this combo. The classic styles are both in heavy rotation in my closet. Honestly, you will most likely find me in some version of this outfit more than once a week. :)
One of the biggest denim trends this season is the uneven hem. For someone who is petite (5’2″ to be exact), it is so hard to find crop jeans that actually fit above the ankle. Instead of spending $$$ on a pair of denim that might not work, I partnered with Old Navy for a little DIY denim project.
Keep reading to find out how to create the uneven hem denim look for under $50.

WEEKEND LEFTOVERS
This weekend is exactly what I needed.
My mom booked a last minute trip to Dallas and it was just what the doctor ordered. We spent lots of time catching up, enjoying some great food and of course, a little retail therapy. Because for me, there is nothing better than shopping with my mom. I am definitely missing her today, but hopefully will be booking a flight home very soon!
While we were shopping I noticed a trend at some of our favorite shops: 90s denim and I’m into it. The high waisted, wide leg jeans are made for the weekends. And if you know me, there is nothing I love more than weekend wear.

NORDSTROM ANNIVERSARY SALE
It’s hard to think about Fall, sweaters and booties when it is 100 degrees outside, but it is totally worth it when your season staples are marked WAY down. The Nordstrom Anniversary sale is here and after spending some time browsing the site and filling my shopping cart full (so long paycheck), I have narrowed down my list to a few categories.
5 THINGS I LOVE ABOUT SPRING
Oh Spring, I love you.
There is a time every year when the trees start to bloom, everyone comes out of hibernation, and yards become perfectly manicured and everything just feels a little lighter. Here are 5 favorite things I love about Spring:
THE DAYS GET LONGER. It is funny when daylight savings happens and we are all wishing for that extra hour of sleep, but a few weeks later when the sun is still up around 7:30, I look out the window and smile.
ADDING WHITE. White is my favorite (non) color to wear. Honestly, I wear it throughout every season, but Spring is the perfect time to brighten up my wardrobe. I normally push the blacks to the back of my closet and find new white pieces to add. I just picked up this top (under $10) and this dress is on the top of my wish list. See more of my favorite white picks:
AL FRESCO DINNER PARTIES. Ever since moving into our new house, I have been wanting to host a casual dinner party and outdoor movie night. See some of my inspiration for the party on my Pinterest page.
EXERCISE OUTSIDE. Maybe its the anticipation of bikini season, but when the weather shifts I get a burst of energy to get in shape. It is so hard when it’s 70 degrees and sunny to not want to get outside and get active. This year my goal is to run a 10k. My friend Michelle (also my coach) is going to help me train. I’ll keep you posted on my progress. First up, 3 miles. Do you have any exercise goals this season?
5. AN UNSPOKEN HAPPINESS. It’s actually a fact. Read this article to find out why.
