This is my second summer in Texas and boy this heat is no joke.  Growing up in a city where the temps exceed what they do in Dallas, the humidity has me running indoors or on vacation.  I have been lucky to travel to some great places this summer to escape the heat.

The one thing that has been coming with me on my travels is my new tote from The Atelier. It’s called the #SummerUniform tote and that is for a reason.  Can you really get any better than Stripes, Sunnies, and a Top Knot?…I think not.  This tote has been by my side in the Hamptons, Palm Beach and San Diego and makes the perfect beach bag that you can pack in your carry on.

Founded in 2013, Melissa Noucas started the Atelier boutique in Philadelphia. The shop is collection of luxe style-inspired stationery, delicate jewelry, accessories and décor featuring her designs and illustrations. She has a great eye for style and simple, clean design and if we had the chance to meet in person,I think we would be best friends.

Never have I ever owned a pair of boyfriend jeans.

Have you ever played that game? It is such a fun game to play with good friends.  But seriously, this is my first pair of boyfriend jeans.  I have always stayed clear of the baggy, relaxed style. For reasons I am not sure, but I never found a pair that seemed to fit until I found this distressed pair from DL1961 Denim.  I love the light wash, relaxed fit for that off-duty look. Did you know they have a try-on at home service. All you do is fill out a few questions about your body type and style you are looking for, they send you three pairs of jeans, and you keep the ones you like and send back the ones you don’t! It is shopping made simple, especially for jeans.  Does anyone else have jean shopping phobia?  I seriously get anxiety when I need to find a new pair of denim.

Being on the petite side; there are a few rules I always follow: 1. I search for short, petite or crop styles to eliminate having alterations (I am an instant gratification kind of girl), 2. Wash is everything! You may not know this about me, but I may be the pickiest person when it comes to denim washes, and 3. Quality is key. Making sure that the ankle is actually skinny on skinny jeans, distressing is done correctly so you don’t rip through the holes, and no saggy butts are the must-haves when it comes to finding the perfect pair.

FALL FOR FLANNEL

There is something so perfect about an oversized flannel shirt in the Fall. Most of the time I just steal the BF’s to wear around the house, but they are always way too big to wear in public. Lately I have been trying on the men’s size at J.Crew just hoping they will fit right, but they never do. Recently I saw this Denim and Supply one and knew it was the perfect flannel to add to my collection.  Not only is it loose fitting (it has small slits on the side), but it actually fits in the arms, which is two thumbs up in my book.
