SAILING IN STRIPES

Sailing_7

One of my favorite days this summer was spent on the Endeavor. Thanks to the best host ever, Mackenzie chartered this beautiful sailboat for the day to cruise around the Nantucket Sound.  There is something so unforgettable about the wind blowing in your hair, the blue water and of course, nautical stripes.

Update

Update: Sorry I missed ya’ll yesterday, I was in Joplin, Missouri with a group of people from work to rebuild a few houses for Habitat for Humanity (well, put siding on homes…aka, hammer a few nails and wear a tool belt). It was such a wonderful, eye-opening experience and I feel so blessed with everything I have. The town of Joplin lost over 700 homes and businesses and a hundred of lives from the devastating tornado. Habitat is slowly rebuilding the town with lots of support from sponsors and personal donations. They still have a long way to go, but they are trying to bring back a little normalcy to a town that lost so much.

While I was away, I also found out that Patrick was being transferred to Ohio (hence the t-shirt). I am really excited for his move, especially for him to be able to live in a town with actual restaurants, street lights and friends. This is the furthest we have ever been apart in the almost 5 years of being together. So in order to make the move easier on both of us, we are planning on traveling up the East Coast; making stops in all of the cities we have always wanted to visit. I am telling you all this because I am going to start a series, hopefully every two weeks about our adventures and the fun places we will visit.

Do any of you sweet readers have any advice/ recommendations on making the transition easier?
