Hello, November. Really though this year has just flown by and I cannot believe it is already the Holidays. The next two months are my absolute favorite, of course minus the stress of traveling (more to come on this) and stuffing my face (good thing I just bought some lose fitting sweaters this weekend).  I am trying to stay on top of my shopping and packing lists this year to eliminate that unnecessary stress.

In the next couple weeks I will be sharing tips and tricks that make the Holiday’s stress-free. From gift guides to quick and easy appetizers to the perfect Holiday Party outfits, I will have you covered this Holiday season.

Back to this past weekend, can we talk about perfect weather? Arizona was absolutely beautiful. There is just nothing better than spending quality time with your family. It’s an undescribeable feeling to be home, but I know my heart was full. We shared laughs, played endless board games, and spent lots of time outside under the blue skies. On Saturday we stopped into my Uncle’s new store in the Biltmore Fashion Park(If you are in the area be sure to stop by Bonafide Goods). For those who are not familiar, the Biltmore is a Fashion district that is celebrating 50 years. To celebrate, the outdoor district was full of amazing mannequins dressed in couture and handmade collections. My favorite was the dress constructed out of magazines…AMAZE!

I have never been known to be a girly girl. I think I have tried to avoid colors like pink and purple because I look so young.  Most of the time people think I am a teenager, now=a=days I take it as a compliment.  While I may not own very many pink outfits, I love a good puckered shoulder or peplum top. Opposite to last week’s menswear post, this week is all about the girly girl (or at least my take on it).  I love a good leather bow, and feminine cut in emerald.  This Fall is all about the midi skirt- I may not be able to wear one on a daily basis but I love this one for a special event, or Holiday party.

Happy October, friends!

Today, I am over on sweet Gaby’s blog, THE VAULT FILES, talking about my favorite items and must haves in my closet.  Gaby was one of my first blogging friends, and she has been an inspiration to me along the way.

Do ya’ll have fun plans for the long weekend?  Thank goodness for Holiday Weekends! We are headed North of the border to celebrate the last weekend of summer in Toronto. I have never been so if anyone has any great recommendations, I would love your input! I am going to try and soak up my last weekend of summer by wearing my favorite white shorts, even though I do not believe in the white after Labor Day rule. White pants should be worn all year long.

Our plan is to spend the entire weekend outside exploring, riding bikes and eating our way through the city- which I am pretty stoked about. We have quite the drive so obviously I need all of the essentials; my September issues for Fall inspiration, my iPad with my new book (I know I am behind on the times!), a new pair of sunglasses that have officially become my all time favs, Twizlers- my guilty pleasure, and my handy dandy passport. I will spare you the picture inside, just think circa 2000s with braces, frizzy hair, and black eyeliner- not my best look (: I definitely need a cute cover like this gold one from The Crew to distract from the picture.

In the spirit of the holidays, I decided to get a little crafty this year and create some custom gift tags.  As I was shopping on the Plaza last week, I decided to pop into Paper Source, which is one of my guilty pleasures that is on the Country Club Plaza.  If you have never been in before, they not only have the most beautiful paper and stationary you have ever seen, but they have these cute “kitschy” gifts for all occasions. These little note pads from Rifel Paper or this funny coal chewing gum would make the perfect stocking stuffers.

Paper source has the cutest Holiday wrapping paper like this one, but I decided to go with a simple design this year and use this.  It was only $5 dollars a roll, and I bought this red and white baker’s twine that was under $10.  I have yet to finish wrapping all of my gifts, but I found a little greenery from my backyard and tied it up with the gift tags I made. You can download the PDF above and print them for free.

It’s almost the time of the season when everyone’s mailboxes are filled with Holiday Cards and those awful full page letters about each of their kids. I love that you can choose your design, upload your best picture from the year, pick and choose your fonts and colors, and the end- you end with a perfect card!

Thanks to Minted, it’s your chance to win a $100 Minted gift card for your favorite custom Holiday Cards.

Merry Christmas

Hi everyone! Sorry it’s so late but Christmas day has been finally winding down for me. It started at 7am when my brother came to wake me up to let me know Santa came, opened presents and went over to my grandparents house. We enjoyed a fabulous lunch and a white elephant gift exchange. Then tonight my best friend Sarah and her mom came over for dinner and lots of wine.

I hope you all enjoyed your time with family and friends with lots of love and laughter. Merry Christmas to all and to all goodnight!

Day 24- A Dash of Christmas Eve

Happy Christmas eve everyone! I hope you are having a lovely night with loved ones, family, and friends.

We will be going to candlelight service, watching Home Alone, making warm cookies for Santa, drinking hot cocoa by the fire and putting Elfie, the magical elf on the tree.

Day 23- A Dash of Travel

Today I traveled home to Scottsdale for the holiday with two suitcases ( one for my clothes and one for all of the gifts!) Surprisingly, the airport craziness was not too bad for the 2 days before Christmas. Hope everyone is done with their Christmas shopping but if not Glitter Guide has some great last minute gift ideas

Day 20: A Dash of Wrap

I have been running around all day picking up last minute stocking stuffers for my family and tonight I have been wrapping all the presents to put into the suitcase (I have to bring two bags home- one for the presents and one for my clothes!) Every year my mom has a new theme for the Christmas presents. They are always beautiful with giant bows and special name tags for each gift.  I think I found my love for everything crafty from her.  In our house growing up we had a room soley dedicated to crafts, which was great because all I ever wanted to do was color and paint (still is a problem until this day). So this year I am starting my own wrapping tradition.  I have been seeing so many pictures lately of darling gift wrapping ideas so I thought I would put my own spin and sparkle on the classic craft paper.
