Style Details, 10 Investment Pieces for Fall

When it comes to investment pieces, I tend to do A LOT of research before pulling the trigger on an item. Here are the 10 pieces I think you should invest in for Fall/Winter that will last you for years to come.

It’s a new year so that means a new you, right? Well, maybe for this first week or so, but then most of us are back to our old ways and habits.  One goal I made last year was to find my signature style and only invest in pieces that I really loved or added value to my closet.  I think I did a pretty good job, minus a few unnecessary white dresses I picked up for our wedding weekend.  Thanks to my tiny closet, I am cleaning it out and riding myself of anything I haven’t worn in the last year. Does anyone else get a little anxiety when doing this, but then feel amazing when it is over?

I am going to continue refining my signature style, but in the meantime there are a few key pieces I want to get/replace in my closet.

  1. Classic Button Down
  2. Jean Jacket (maybe even personalize it)
  3. New Workout Clothes (look good, feel good…right?)
  4. Leather Leggings
  5. Leather Jacket
  6. New Cashmere Sweaters: These Equipment ones are the best
  7. A new pair of loafers

What are some of your closet goals this year?

Goal Number 1: Keep it simple and signature.

For me, this year is all about focusing on my signature style.  Being a blogger, I am constantly finding inspiration, watching trends and trying to stay up with the newest and best products, but honestly I love a simple outfit that is elevated with classic accessories.  Do you feel the same?

Note: Keeping things simple does not make you boring.  Being able to re-wear clothes in your closet is the most important thing (because lets be honest, no one can afford to wear something new every day). My goal this year is to show all of you how to wear your basics while still keeping them fresh, on trend and a little different than everyone else.

If you have noticed since the new year I have been on a monochromatic kick.  Being only 5’2″, a single color elongates your figure and keeps me feeling comfortable throughout the entire day.  Adding texture and layers rather than color allows you to add something unexpected to a neutral look.
