J.McLaughlin Tunic

On Sunday, Patrick and I headed to the beach in the late afternoon to soak up a little sun (covered in sunscreen, of course) and relax before the week started.  If there is one thing we are missing living in Dallas, it is definitely the beach.  There is something so peaceful about listening to the waves crash onto the shore.

We have been experiencing some major rainy/gloomy weather in Dallas this week and my mood has taken a major hit. I don’t know if anyone feels this way, but January has been one super long month and I am ready for it to be over.  Not that I want to wish away the days, but I think I always put too much pressure on myself to be perfect and to think I can meet all my goals in just the first 4 weeks of the year.  This month is always a reset, a fresh start but I seem to add too much to my plate and it never ends well.  For the next two weeks, I decided to throw my yearly goals aside and try to focus on what is happening in this moment.

Today, I woke up with a smile on my face and the sun starting to shine through our window. It’s going to be a great Friday!

JMcLaughlin Winter White

According to the news, Dallas is about to get hit with an “arctic blast” tonight. Not really sure what that means, but I know a few things are for sure;  I will be lighting a fire, making one of my winter soup recipes and wrapping up in comfy pjs and a blanket.  Nothing gets me more in the holiday spirit than a cold winter night.  Anyone else still adjusting to this whole pitch black at 5:30 thing? I am definitely not loving the shorter days but my sleep game has been on point.

J.McLaughlin Clutch and Black Outfit

With Summer in the rearview mirror, I have my eyes set on the new season.  To me, Fall means cozy sweaters, nights by the fire and the perfect time to try those soup recipes I have had my eye on all Summer. J.McLaughlin let me sneak a peek their new Fall Collection a few weeks ago and it is so good.  This bamboo clutch is definitely a favorite.

J.McLaughin Crossbody

I never really understood the term June gloom growing up in Arizona.  We had about 360 days of sunshine a year. Everyone would look forward to those 1 or 2 days of rain in the summer to escape the sun and heat.  Now after living in 5 different cities I have realized my mood is completely affected by the weather.

White Linen Shirt and Bright colored scarf

When you think of all American style, what brand comes to mind?  If you are from the East Coast than many of you would think of the brand, J.McLaughlin.  The brand was started by two brothers in 1977 in Manhattan in the quintessential Upper East Side. The brands classic take on current trends is what led to their success and expansion into Texas and now 100 new stores. To me, the brand is the epitome of Southern classic style.  Last week myself, Mackenzie and Amanda hosted a shopping and dinner event in Dallas with a few friends to check out the new Summer/Spring collection.
