MOTT & BOW
Jeans and a tee? Groundbreaking, no not really. But, you know when I find a good pair of jeans, I have to shout it from the rooftops. So without further adieu, let me introduce you to this new-to-me brand, Mott & Bow.

10 (LIGHT) TOPS FOR ANY SEASON
There is nothing more I have loved than escaping the Dallas heat this summer. The idea of wearing jeans in July normally sounds dreadful, but in Nantucket, the temps drop at night and jeans and a top are ideal for dinner outside.
The Nordstrom Anniversary Sale officially starts this Friday and if you read this post, you know how many good Fall new arrivals are included in the sale. This top is one of my favorite purchases I made! I am all about instant gratification and love that I can wear this throughout the rest of the summer with jeans, high-waisted shorts or a cute mini skirt.

MY “NEW” EVERYDAY STYLE
If there could be one outfit that would perfectly describe my style, it would be this–white tee, jeans, sandals, and a few unexpected accessories. Over the last few years I have been slowly cleaning out my closet and streamlining my wardrobe to reflect my signature style.

FIVE PAIRS OF JEANS YOU NEED THIS SPRING
Being someone who would rather wear jeans over anything else in her closet, I still have trouble finding that “perfect” fit. So this year it has been my goal to purge my jean drawer and find five pairs of the perfect fitting denim. I have been doing some major research (read: shopping) to find my favorite pairs for this season and beyond. While the fashion guru’s say skinnies are out and straight leg are in; I am still not convinced and my skinnies are here to stay.

DIY DENIM
Denim and Stripes. If you ask me, there is really nothing better than this combo. The classic styles are both in heavy rotation in my closet. Honestly, you will most likely find me in some version of this outfit more than once a week. :)
One of the biggest denim trends this season is the uneven hem. For someone who is petite (5’2″ to be exact), it is so hard to find crop jeans that actually fit above the ankle. Instead of spending $$$ on a pair of denim that might not work, I partnered with Old Navy for a little DIY denim project.
Keep reading to find out how to create the uneven hem denim look for under $50.

THE KATE
When it comes to finding the perfect denim there are a few things I look for: 1. a pair that will pass the test of time, 2. the wash is the perfect shade of blue and 3. the fabric is high quality. Thanks to my dear friends at Lola Boutique (and my dear friend, Anna) for introducing me to AMO Denim because I am now hooked. I have been loving the crop flare trend so when I saw “The Kate,” I knew I had to have them. The high waist, narrow leg and crop flare are super flattering (even on petite girls). I still have to get mine hemmed a little in the length, but I had to share them with you before I parted ways with them for a week. I have to confess, I actually wore them every day last week (insert the monkey emojii). They are just that good.
On a side note: One of my favorite things about blogging has been meeting talented, creative people. A few years ago I met Anna, one of the owners of Shop Lola, at Fashion Week through a mutual friend. She is honestly one of the most talented and genuinely nice people I have ever meant. We spent a few days together hopping around the city and I was soaking up her incredible style. When I found out she owned a boutique in Arkansas, I was anything but surprised. She has an amazing eye for curating a cohesive collection of brands, collaborations and her styling is one-of-a-kind.
Be sure to check out the entire AMO Denim collection and thanks to the gals at Lola Boutique all of you will recieve 20% off all AMO Denim by using the code ADASHOFDETAILS20.

THE NEW NORMAL
Working from home has its perks, but staying in my pjs all day has become the new normal.
Instead of waking up and heading straight to my desk, my goal this week is to look into my closet and style an outfit I feel good in. Yesterday, this was the outfit: White button down, skinny jeans, and a sweater (because Patrick likes to keep our house like an icebox). It was the perfect outfit to transition from work to an early happy hour. I mean, it was Monday after all. A white button down and jeans is as classic as it gets! I threw on a pair of kicks to grab lunch at Whole Foods and my Jimmy Choos for drinks. These skinny jeans from DL1969 are some of my favorites. Not only do they have a frayed hem (perfect for petite girls) but the stretch makes them comfortable enough to wear all day.
Being comfortable is key when it comes to working from home, but I decided that I should compromise my style even if no one other than me will see it!
