Spring Flowers

It has been a minute since my last Love You, post and I really miss these little catch ups. The last couple weeks have been super busy around our neck of the woods. I have been added a few extra things to my plate and I am trying to figure out how to juggle ALL OF THE THINGS. It’s been fun and exciting to challenge myself and I am looking forward to see all the good that comes along with these changes.

Style Details from A Dash of Details

Cozy, Cashmere and making a statement. This week’s style details are all about these three things.

The cold, rainy weather has finally made it’s way to Dallas and I have been curled up at my desk in the comfiest sweatpants and cashmere sweaters. These sweatpants are my favorite because I can run errands and still look “put together”.  Something else on my mind is the holidays.  Maybe it is the endless commercials or that all of my favorite online stores have their gift guides up, but I am still trying to enjoy November before the madness begins.

Kansas City Travel Details

I am headed to Kansas City tomorrow for Patrick’s aunts wedding.  My bag is packed full of dresses for all the festivities.  I am excited to see my family, girlfriends and all their babies. Oh and there will definitely be at least one pitstop at Winsteads for a burger and a 50/50.

I start every morning with a song and a cup of coffee.  Each song sets the tone for the day and that good feeling that today is going to be a great day.

Today’s song: Make You Mine by Us The Duo

I am not sure if you have noticed, but I feel like I am getting back into my groove after a crazy summer and beginning of fall.  To be honest, I have been pretty sick for the majority of September and October. But no one really wants to read about the bad stuff, and honestly I never like to share.  So, today I woke up for the first time feeling back to normal and healthy and I am back with my favorite post of the week, Love You, Friday.  If you are not familiar, I have been writing these posts since the early days of this blog.  It is a time for me to share the good, bad and great things that happened the prior week and upcoming weekend.

This week, the Royals won the World Series and the city of Kansas City all came together in such a special way.  See all of the amazing pictures here.  All of my old co-workers got to enjoy all of their hard work becoming a reality.

I am finally been able to get back into a good workout routine, thanks to StudioHop.

If you are in Dallas, there are lots of new store openings at Highland Park Village. The Alice and Olivia store is darling, Celiné (is going to be very dangerous) and a particular favorite, the Royal Blue Grocery.

I am finally getting on top of the holidays this year.  I placed our order for Holiday cards last week from Shutterfly and absolutely love how they turned out! Now it’s onto the gifts….

Today we are headed to the ranch for some major R&R with family.  I am sure I will be cozied up by the fire with a glass of red wine, new magazines and a soft blanket all weekend. Lazy fall weekends are my absolute favorite.

What do you have planned for this weekend?

It’s been a while since I have done a life update, so without further adieu…

Last week my friend Mackenzie hosted a pop-up shop at her office.  She has the best hostess gifts and I am obsessed with these matches.

The Royals are headed to the World Series tomorrow and we could not be more excited.  We made a few last minute trips to Kansas City last two weekends to watch the boys in blue play their hearts out.  If you are looking for fun sporting/game day shirts, I love Charlie Hustle Shop.

Speaking of Kansas City, there is a new barbecue restaurant in Dallas called 18th and Vine. It was soo good.

Thankfully, it is finally cooling down in Dallas.  I hate to say it but I am officially over 90 degrees. I have been eyeing all of the sweaters at J.Crew.  They are even having 25% off full price items…YES PLEASE.

Yesterday marked six months since our wedding day.  We have been on the best adventure so far and I know it is just the beginning.  In case you missed it, our wedding was on Style Me Pretty.  Even six months later, this was still the best day of our lives.

Hope you have a great Monday!

I really need a day between Sunday and Monday :)

Does anyone else feel that way when they travel? This weekend was jam-packed with events, lots of girl talk, cupcakes, and wine (you know all of the essentials for a girls weekend).  On Saturday, Patrick’s aunts hosted a shower for his sister (the bride to be) at a darling place in Kansas City, called Axois.  It was the perfect mix of preppy decor, bright spring flowers, and amazing french cuisine. After the shower, we walked around the Crestwood Shops and to my surprise stumbled upon the most well-curated store of which I had never been.  I think I have walked by a time or two but never stepped inside until this weekend.  To say completely fell in love with George was an understatement. Well selected coffee table books, to the Savon de Marseille soaps, to the amazing one-of-a-kind furniture, I wanted to take home everything.  As far as the rest of the weekend, it will be left to your imagination, as it was a bachelorette party, and you know what happens at the girls weekend, stays at the girls weekend :)

* I am over on the Tuckernuck blog talking Spring styles, I would love for your to check it out.

Hi! I am officially back! Sorry for the sparatic posts these past two weeks, but you guys understand right?  With moving across the country, finding a house in less than a week, driving to Kansas City to get our stuff and the pups, and then trying to organize our lives, blogging just was not in the books.  The worst part of it all (btw…this is a total first world problem) we finally just got internet last night. Thank goodness for cute coffee shops and Starbucks that have saved my life these past couple weeks.

I totally missed the fact yesterday was the first day of Spring, so today I officially pulled out my white jeans today in honor of the change in season. I cannot wait to wear my sundresses and sandals this weekend, thank goodness for 75 degrees and sunny. :) Happy Weekend, y’all!

Also, thank you to everyone who commented on yesterday’s post. You really know how to make a girl feel special (and there will be some wedding posts coming your way soon!)

Yesterday was all about looking good, but today is all about “shocking your body” as the fusionistas like to say. If you are from Kansas City then it would be hard not to hear about Fusion Fitness. If you are not from Kansas City and have not heard of Fusion, it is your lucky day. Fusion changed my life and my approach to working out.  Created by the ever talented, Darby Brender, she developed a system that transforms your body by elongating your muscles, decreasing body fat, improving cardiovascular endurance as well as increasing flexibility. I didn’t believe it at first, but Fusion actually changed the shape of my body.

Here is a little back story: I started going to Fusion Fitness over a year ago when I lived in Kansas City. It was the first work out class I was actually excited to go to every night. After being a dancer for 18+ years, I could never find a workout that I truly enjoyed. Running is not my thing (I do it, but I don’t like it), I get bored with Yoga, and kickboxing got old after 5 days in a row. When my friend introduced me to Fusion, I was instantly hooked. For months I would go at least 5 times a week and would be mad at myself if I missed a class.  With over 30 different classes and counting, you never felt like you were doing the same thing twice.  The music is the best, the instructors are top notch, and for me it was a community.  When I decided to move away from Kansas City 6 months ago, I knew I was going to have a hard time leaving Fusion for more reasons than one, but I decided to not let it get the best of me.  This is when I bought by first Fusion Fitness DVD set. Since moving, I have a little piece of Fusion with me in Ohio. I can do it in front of my TV every night and still get the same workout experience, minus all of the people around.  I have to push myself harder than before but I am still seeing the results.

So for today’s installment of the New Year, New You series, one lucky reader will receive their very own Fusion Fitness Dream Body DVD sets to start “Shocking Their Body”.  The two 5 disc sets contain some of my favorite workouts of all time. Bata Bar and Bikini Bootcamp are my favorites in the Cardio series and Fusion Mix and Tabata and Toning are my favorite in the original Dream Body series.

I want to hear from you, what is your favorite way to stay in shape? Follow the Rafflecopter below to enter, the giveaway will end on Friday, January 10th! So get moving!

Well guess what? We are back at it and off again. This time we are jetting off to Kansas City for the Plaza Art Fair Weekend.  It is my favorite event in Kansas City and I knew I would not miss it this year just because I moved away.  For many of you who have never been to Kansas City or even the midwest, the Art Fair is the best weekend of the year! Not only are there 15 blocks full of local and national artists booths, but some of the best food and drinks you will ever have. Lets talk about a highlight from last year, a free Chocolate Bag from McCormick and Schmicks, thanks to a little sweet talk with one of my girlfriends. This is the first time I am headed back to Kansas City after the big move and I could not be more excited to see all my girlies. I am sure there is going to be too much fun (nah… there is no such thing as too much fun) to be had.

The weather is supposed to be absolutely beautiful for the weekend, so I am going to enjoy wearing a few of my new fall favorites. Since we will be out and about all day/night- I am going to bring my new leather jacket and these heels to dress up my daytime look.  I decided to stick with neutrals when I made my packing list because really you can never go wrong with some good black and white.  Oh, and I am sure I will be doing lots of shopping, since I have been on a freeze for the last 2 months.
