LATELY

ADOD_LATELY1-25-6After a week away from the blog, I am finally back and with lots of updates. Last week I had a mini meltdown mostly due to complete exhaustion and being sick. Working full time, blogging, starting to plan a wedding, and still trying to have a life, really caught up with me; resulting in a total breakdown. Instead of pushing myself like I normally would, I decided to take a break from all the extras, focus on work and go to bed early every night. Yesterday was the first day I finally felt back to normal. Thankfully, woke up feeling completely inspired.

Also, a little side note: *I am still getting used to this new blog format and just realized that you can no longer follow me on Bloglovin’ without re-subscribing, so here you go folks- use this link to follow me on Bloglovin’. I guess it is better late than never :) Follow my blog with Bloglovin

ADOD_LATELY1-25-3That feeling of complete exhaustion started with a trip to NYC to fulfill my MOH duties for my cousin’s bachelorette party, and boy, it was great time.  I made these tote bags with each girls’ initial embroidered in her wedding colors, a bottle of champagne, a few of my favorite Essie polishes, and all sorts of pink/red lipsticks that were stuffed inside. There were lots of other fun activities, but what happens in New York, stays in New York :)

Is anyone else sick of this cold, dry weather yet? I have been dreaming I lived in California at the moment, but until that day I have been using this Tata Harper Resurfacing Mask to keep my skin healthy and smooth.

ADOD_LATELY1-25-5A few recent favorites- these Zara booties and a little lace (just in time for V-Day)

ADOD_LATELY1-25-4I think you know by now, but Patrick and I love to travel. Currently we are planning our trips for Spring (6 and counting…) Oh, and a little bubbly engagement gift from a friend.

ADOD_LATELY1-25-8I have been sipping on this lately, kind of obsessed with this grapefruit fizzy water (which is a great alternative to soda, a bad habit I am trying to kick for good)

NEW YORK STYLE

NEWYORKSTYLE1 NEWYORKSTYLE6 NEWYORKSTYLE2

Like the chic French girl, there is something effortless about the “New York girl”.  The moment I step off the airplane, I feel a rush of energy through my body. I feel fearless, I take risks, and I am independent. Not that I don’t do these things on a daily basis at home, but there is something different about walking the streets in New York.  It is a feeling I cannot really describe, but it is something special and I love it.

Every time I pack for New York, I always travel with my five basics and add a few statement pieces to push my style. If you have been to NYC or live there, you know what I am talking about; anything goes and no one takes a second look. There are a few ladies I always take a note from when making my packing list (see it tomorrrow). Danielle, We Wore What, Blaire, Atlantic-Pacific and , Arielle, Something Navy ooze that ‘New York Cool Girl Style’.

A HIDDEN GEM

ADOD_TARTAN8ADOD_TARTAN10 ADOD_TARTAN1 ADOD_TARTAN12 ADOD_TARTAN9 ADOD_TARTAN11 ADOD_TARTAN6“I felt like we had a secret, just the two of us. Like that thing where you just wanna be with one person all the time. You feel like the two of you get something no one else gets.”- American Hustle

Yesterday was one of those days, just the two of us. To be honest, most of the time it is just the two of us (if you haven’t noticed already from Instagram).  Living in a town where we don’t know a sole except for co-workers and the next big city is a little less than an hour away, it is hard to meet friends. I guess it is just another sign of getting older, so for now it’s just the two of us and I am okay with it.

One thing is we both love is adventure; finding and trying new places, traveling, and stumbling upon those hidden gems in cities that only the locals know about.  So as the new year is well on its way, the jet setting continues… stay tuned because there are new and old cities on our list this year.  Next stop NYC.

GLAM STYLE APP AND NYFW

Although NYFW is officially over, all of the fun doesn’t stop here.  When Glam asked me to review there new GLAM Style App, I just knew it was going to be something spectacular, because let’s be honest- they are awesome. Thanks to the new app, this entire week I was able to get the inside scoop on what was happening in New York from some of my stylish friends, top style makers and designers. If you have 3 seconds today you should download the app here for free.  Some of my favorite articles to point out are Jenna Lyons style tips, Lela Rose’s famous biscotti recipe, and the ever hilarious, Hallie Wilson’s survival tips. The app even lists the best hotels, restaurants, and night life scene to be spotted at in NYC.  Since I know I will be in NYC come this February, I will definitely be using these tips and tricks for my first go-around at Fashion Week.  I am sure there is going to be great content to follow this first edition, so be sure to download the app for insider info on interviews with experts, fashion trends, events and more!
