Doesn’t this outfit just scream Fall? There is something about a tan and navy color combination that feels so classic and makes me want to go apple picking. I scored this amazing real leather skirt from one of my favorite top designers at TJMaxx when I was in Dallas. If you live anywhere by Northpark Mall in Dallas, you much stop across the street for some amazing deals. The largest Runway section I have ever seen! The entire women’s and beauty department was full of the brands I would buy full price, but literally at a fraction of the price. If you were checking out my instagram, you may have noticed the leather jacket I scored for under $150 (yes, this was a true #maxxinista find).
When it comes to leather I am very picky. I am all about texture and quality when it comes to all of my clothes, so finding this leather skirt at TJ Maxx is everything. It feels as soft as butter and the color will work for any occasion. This designer find can be dressed down with a gausey sweater, like the navy one I am wearing above, and some booties. Or to dress up this look, I would pair my new favorite skirt with a black silk blouse, textured jacket and a great heel. The trends this Fall are all about mixing textures and volumes, so I love that this classic silhouette will allow me to mix and match with some of my favorite cable knit sweaters and structured tops.
Another trend this Fall is the All American look (or what I like to call: the 90s are back). During 2013 F/W NYFW many of the top designers were featuring this trend. To add a pop of color and pattern to a mostly neutral look, I suggest tucking in a plaid button down top into a leather skirt to give the look a little edge. I always try to give each of my classic looks a hint of edge and leather is the perfect way to do this. This black quilted leather skirt (from TJ Maxx online) would also be a great ways to give an All American look a little bit of Rock and Roll.
When I wear a neutral outfit, I am all about the red nail. I found this color in the beauty department and knew I just needed to have this vibrant color in my collection. Another fun thing I found in the beauty department last week was my favorite pumpkin spiced soaps. I love adding a seasonal touch to my house with festive hand towels and hand soap for our guest bathroom and kitchen.
Expressing yourself through fashion, and knowing how to put together a great look—at great value, is what being a Maxxinista is all about. At T.J.Maxx you can score the unexpected to make your own personal style statement. Here’s to rockin’ your real deal.
