You have heard it time and again, but there really is nothing more classic than a Little Black Dress.

In this case, a LBD that can be worn for a night out or to run errands makes for an A+ in my book. While I was in New York, I told you I popped into OTTE in Nolita. Other than the fact I wanted to move into the cozy store and make all of the goodies inside my own, I decided to focus on finding a classic piece that I could bring home with me. For some time I have been lusting over the Ellen Dress because of its unique, but oh so classic silhouette. As I was shuffling through the perfectly organized racks, I came across the one; a black xs.  It was meant to be. Let’s just say, I now want the Ellen Dress in every color and pattern.

Other than the fact that I wanted to walk out of the store in my new dress (that might have been a little embarrassing), I did wear it the very next day for my last Fashion Week shows and meeting, then again on the airplane with a crop sweater and these shoes, then again when I got back to Dallas for date night with Patrick. Other than my obsession with the Ellen Dress, other Otte Signature pieces are high on my wish list like; this amazing fur vest, the Sylvia Pebble Top, the Jackie Dress, this hat, and this sweater.

One of my favorite hobbies is finding boutiques with perfectly curated selections of my favorite brands.  And it is even better when they have online outlets to shop too.  About 4 years ago I was introduced to Otte by one of my New York besties and of course, I was instantly hooked. The boutique has actually been opened since 1999 and has continued to evolve and expand over the years. Not only do they carry my favorite brands, but Kay Lee, the founder of Otte created her own line of classic, affordable silk pieces when she realized they were missing from the marketplace. GENIUS.

When I was in New York last month I had the pleasure of meeting Rose at the Otte Nolita store to find out the inside scoop on the brand and the stores’ success. The shop is located in the most darling neighborhood and close to one of my favorite lunch spots, Toast.  Brands like Kenzo, Theory, 3.1 Phillip Lim, and A.L.C. filled the racks with tables in the center of the store holding some of Falls lustworthy trends.  My absolute favorite was the pale pink and grey filled table, with cool-girl kicks and amazing Lionette NY jewels.  The store carries the perfect mix of feminine and rocker-chic pieces, and oh, the amazing collection of dainty gold jewelry.  Dana Rebecca, EF Collection, Jennifer Zeuner are amongst some of my favorite pieces I tried on.  The shop gals were super sweet and made me feel like a kid in a candy store; letting me try on all of the new fall pieces.

If you are in New York or just visiting, be sure to stop by one of Otte’s multiple locations in the city! Or if not, they have the most amazing collection of brands and easy to navigate online store.

*Stay tuned for how I styled one of my favorite OTTE collection pieces.

For me, winter could not be over soon enough. I am missing sunshine and heat on my skin.

Being a southern girl at heart, there is nothing better than ditching that parka for a sundress and while this does not seem to be in my near future just yet, I am starting to add some spring prints and colors to brighten up my days.  This Spring is all about light denim, pastels, and rose gold details; and I am a fan.  While it didn’t last long, this past weekend I enjoyed a little taste of what was to come with 60 degree temps and a flood of sunshine.  Hopefully there is a lot more of that to come soon.  Bring on the sunshine and reasons for cute new clothes!

Ready to jumpstart on your Spring wardrobe?  Have you had a chance to look at their new arrivals at the Shopbop Sale? I am pretty obsessed with these espadrilles, this bag, and this OTTE dress. It is the perfect time to buy some of those investment pieces because you are going to SAVE, SAVE, SAVE!

Concrete jungle is calling my name tomorrow which happens to be a last minute addition to our travel itinerary this summer.  When I think about packing for Manhattan, I think the classics- white and black.  The temps are heating up in the Big Apple so I want to make sure I am comfortable and cool while I walk the city, so comfy shoes are a definite must have.  My suit case is filled with a structured bag, classic shift dresses, distressed denim, and fun accessories for a pop of color.
