EVine Valentine's Day

Like I said in yesterday’s post (be sure to enter the giveaway!), some of my favorite Valentine’s Day memories have been super low key. One of my favorite activities to unwind since moving into our new house has been to take baths.  The bathroom was redone before we moved in, which meant a brand new bath tub. Let me be honest for a second, I was always weirded/grossed out by taking a bath in any of my previous rental houses, so I haven’t enjoyed a soak since living with my parents. Anyone else?! Please say you feel the same so I know I am not crazy. ;)

Style Details: Valentine's Day

While I am not normally one for the pink and red, during the month of February I am a total sucker for mixing the two. There is something so chic about a red cashmere and pale pink midi skirt. Don’t you agree? With the big day approaching I thought it was only necessary to share some of my favorite red and pink must-haves.

While I am not necessarily big on Valentine’s gifts, my husband always seems to make the day extra special.  He is seriously the best at surprises. Most of the time it is not the gifts that make the day special but the memories.  We will be celebrating our 10th holiday together and every year he seems to surprise me with something more thoughtful than the previous year.

Do you have any Valentine’s day traditions?

Today is all about showing your love. It might sound cheesy but whether its a quick email to all of your girlfriends, a phone call to your grandparents or a little breakfast in bed for your guy/girl, today is all about telling those people how much you love them. So first and foremost, today is about showing my love to all of you readers! You are the one’s who drive me and the one’s who continue to keep push creative views. I really never thought this little space in the Internet would ever allow me to connect and make lifelong friendships that bring me so much joy everyday.

If you are wondering what yesterday was about….well, remember when I said when I moved to Ohio a few months back and I said we may be moving again soon, well that may now be sooner rather than later.  A lot of things are still up in the air as of today. I really try and keep it real over here. so I wanted you to be the firsts to know. Long story short, everything is going to change again in a big way.  Stay tuned for more details, but for now, today I hope you enjoy lots of pink and red, steal a few kisses or eat a few Hersey ones, buy yourself some flowers if you already haven’t, and share your love with people that matter.

I told you earlier this week that I love the month of February, but the real reason is that I am a hopeless romantic, hence why I love Valentine’s Day.  It is not really about the day, the cards, or the gifts, but it’s just another way to show and tell my favorite people how much I really care about them.  Oh and the fact that I love arts and crafts.  My mom is one of the most creative people I know. Growing up, we would spend hours in her office/playroom painting and crafting. Because she used to own her own kid’s clothing company, she was always creating.  I am so thankful to have picked up this trait and love for creativity from her.

So, back to Valentine’s Day.  There is something so special about a scent that is unique to you. Back in the day (I am talking middle school days) Ralph Lauren, Romance was my scent. Today, I have a few scents that I love for different occasions. This is why I am completely in love with E&J’s Nirvana perfumes. Created by Mary Kate and Ashley, Nirvana embodies ‘duality of sophistication and feminine detail balanced with downtown edge and masculine tailoring’. Two very distinct scents; the white (my favorite for daytime) has touches of peonies, muguet, and musk and the black blends violet, sandalwood, and vanilla into the perfect scent for a night out on the town.

I have always been a fan of finding “new to me” brands, so when I was recently introduced to Jane Pope Jewelry, I knew I had to share.  Thanks to Chassity for showing off her cute new bar studs, I started browsing Jane’s online shop and I am hooked on these mini studs.  Being a lover of dainty gold jewelry, her designs are so simple, but in the most perfect way.  I mean, seriously how cute are those little lips for Valentine’s Day, or really everyday.  I think my first purchase is going to be the slate bar studs. They are the perfect, wear everyday earring.

ADOD_LATELY1-25-6After a week away from the blog, I am finally back and with lots of updates. Last week I had a mini meltdown mostly due to complete exhaustion and being sick. Working full time, blogging, starting to plan a wedding, and still trying to have a life, really caught up with me; resulting in a total breakdown. Instead of pushing myself like I normally would, I decided to take a break from all the extras, focus on work and go to bed early every night. Yesterday was the first day I finally felt back to normal. Thankfully, woke up feeling completely inspired.

Also, a little side note: *I am still getting used to this new blog format and just realized that you can no longer follow me on Bloglovin’ without re-subscribing, so here you go folks- use this link to follow me on Bloglovin’. I guess it is better late than never :) Follow my blog with Bloglovin

ADOD_LATELY1-25-3That feeling of complete exhaustion started with a trip to NYC to fulfill my MOH duties for my cousin’s bachelorette party, and boy, it was great time.  I made these tote bags with each girls’ initial embroidered in her wedding colors, a bottle of champagne, a few of my favorite Essie polishes, and all sorts of pink/red lipsticks that were stuffed inside. There were lots of other fun activities, but what happens in New York, stays in New York :)

Is anyone else sick of this cold, dry weather yet? I have been dreaming I lived in California at the moment, but until that day I have been using this Tata Harper Resurfacing Mask to keep my skin healthy and smooth.

ADOD_LATELY1-25-5A few recent favorites- these Zara booties and a little lace (just in time for V-Day)

ADOD_LATELY1-25-4I think you know by now, but Patrick and I love to travel. Currently we are planning our trips for Spring (6 and counting…) Oh, and a little bubbly engagement gift from a friend.

ADOD_LATELY1-25-8I have been sipping on this lately, kind of obsessed with this grapefruit fizzy water (which is a great alternative to soda, a bad habit I am trying to kick for good)

With Valentines Day on it’s way, I am sure a few of you are hoping for something sparkly from your significant other. If Patrick ever picks out jewelry for a special or non-special occasion, he knows I really love classic, timeless pieces (he has learned this from five years of experience). I have to give him a lot of credit, because he has never bought me anything I do not absolutely love. So, when it comes to the mecca of a jewelry investment, I would say it’s the tennis bracelet. I think it is a statement that will never go out of style. It is definitely something you can wear everyday, if you go with more of the classic style. Anjolee Diamonds is an online source that allows you to completely customize your diamonds, whether it be eternity bands, engagement rings, or necklaces. You can pick out the style, metal, quality of the diamonds or gemstones, carat size- you name it and they can do it! I hope that one day I will be able to afford one of these beauties- especially the classic circle.

Every week, Anjolee offers a special discount on one of their fine jewelry styles, but for being one of my fabulous readers, you can also use the coupon code: MP591 to receive an additional 5% off any order.
