WINTER WHITE OUT

JMcLaughlin Winter White

According to the news, Dallas is about to get hit with an “arctic blast” tonight. Not really sure what that means, but I know a few things are for sure;  I will be lighting a fire, making one of my winter soup recipes and wrapping up in comfy pjs and a blanket.  Nothing gets me more in the holiday spirit than a cold winter night.  Anyone else still adjusting to this whole pitch black at 5:30 thing? I am definitely not loving the shorter days but my sleep game has been on point.

Cashmere Wrap (c/o) / Silk Shirt (c/o) / Sunglasses (c/o) / White Jeans / Mules / Earrings

When J.McLaughlin asked me if I liked to style a winter white outfit from their holiday collection, I couldn’t have been more excited.  This cashmere wrap has been with me to the mountains, date night and even to the grocery store. When it comes to wearing white in the winer there are a few rules that I always follow:

MIX AND MATCH

Pair off-white (or cream) with bright white too keep the look from being too summery.

ADD LOTS OF TEXTURE

Texture is the key to a successful white winter outfit.  Think: cashmere, silk and fur.

POP OF COLOR

A soft color like blush or light grey is a great accent color for the neutral look. I also love adding a bright red lip for a festive touch.

WEATHER APPROPRIATE

There is nothing cuter than an all white outfit in the snow, but make sure to bundle up. This fur headband will keep you looking chic and warm.

The sun sets before 4:30 here in Chicago (something I didn’t realize before moving from Kansas City), and my productivity has been downright terrible since! I feel ready for bed at 7….not good haha. I love the mini tassels on this wrap :)
