Treat Day: Baseball On My Mind

This week I have been preparing and gearing up for the biggest day of the year at work. So I thought in honor of Opening Weekend some baseball themed cake pops (from the Sweet and Saucy Shop) were in order for Treat Day Friday! Enjoy and Happy April Fool’s Day!

Treat Day Friday

It’s treat day again, which means it’s finally Friday! A couple weeks ago I came across Grilled Cheese Social (my heaven).  Makenzie Smith, the creator of Grilled Cheese Social started her blog last year, she has made almost every variation of the grilled cheese I could think of and all look like they would melt in your mouth.  yumm.  Her heart shaped French toast with mascarpone cheese looks delectable and perfect for Treat Day Friday.  Enjoy!

Ingredients

– 3 heart shaped pieces of challah bread (I used a giant cookie cutter)
–  2 eggs

– 1/2 cup of milk

– 1/4 tsp vanilla

– 1/4 tsp cinnamon
– 3 large sliced organic strawberries
– 2 pads of salted butter
– 2 tbs of Mascarpone Cheese
– 2 tbs of Nutella

*optional whipped cream*

Treat Day

Happy Friday everyone! Today’s treat comes from Joy the Baker. (if you can’t tell by the picture she definitely knows what she is doing!) This Ooey Googy Cinnamon Sugar Pull-Apart Bread looks heavenly.  And I would love to dig right in.  She makes it look so easy that I may have to make my first attempt at bread.  You can find the full recipe here.

Sweet Tooth

I have had a major sweet tooth lately and with my love/hate relationship with ice cream I have found that sorbet is the way to control my craving :) Ciao Bella not only is delicious but the packaging is also super cute.  I love the wide range of flavors like, blood orange (Oprah’s favorite), roasted hazelnut, and blackberry cabernet to name a few.  Ciao Bella can fill anyones sweet tooth because not only do they make sorbet but also gelato and all natural ice cream.

Friday Treat Day

Bagels, bagels, bagels galore! It’s Friday and treat day at work again! The go to breakfast- treat is generally the soft, doughy bagels from Einsteins Bros (not the most healthy choice but I always look forward to them on Friday mornings) Enjoy your Friday!

National Margarita Day

Happy National Margarita Day everyone! How great is it that the tart and tangy drink has its own holiday? I think it’s pretty fabulous! Which kind of margarita is your favorite, frozen or on the rocks? lime, strawberry, or even the not- so- traditional blood orange? I am thinking of trying Ina Garten’s Blood Orange Margarita recipe tonight.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup blood orange juice
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice (1 lemon)
  • 1 cup Triple Sec
  • 3 cups ice
  • 1 cup white tequila
  • 4 frozen margarita glasses

Combine the blood orange juice, lemon juice, Triple Sec, and ice in a blender and puree until completely blended. Add the tequila and puree for 2 seconds more.

Pour the mixture into the frozen margarita glasses and serve.
