Hey August, nice to see you again. It’s my favorite month of the year for many reasons but this year feels different…it’s a little more magical. My birthday was the best way to kick off the new month and our a little announcement was just the icing on the cake. Although the temps are at an all time high, there is just nothing I love more than the summer sun, long summer nights, and the ease that summer brings before the hustle and bustle of the Fall.

This month comes with lots of excitement and what feels like the end of summertime. With lots of celebrations this month and the halfway point of my pregnancy (hello, tiny baby bump) this week, August is already shaping up to be a good one.

Staying hydrated. Since finding out I was pregnant, I have been making an extra effort to drink more water. I was pretty good at this before finding out, but now I am just thirsty all the time. I was finding I needed to fill up my glass water bottle too often, so I switched to this Hydro Flask with a straw lid and it has made a world of difference. It pretty much never leaves my side, especially in this summer heat. I also start every morning with warm water and lemon, a habit I started a few years ago and still one of my favorite parts of my morning routine.

A little mid-month travel. I am headed to Connecticut to shower Mackenzie and her little baby boy. I haven’t actually spent anytime in CT (just a quick drive through on our way to Nantucket a few summers ago), so I am looking forward to some quality time with my bestie, cooler weather, maybe a dip in the ocean, and exploring around Mackenzie’s home state.

On the calendar. Remember when I said we have lots of celebrations? Tonight my girlfriends are taking me to dinner for my birthday. You know I will be enjoying lots of sparkling water out of a wine glass––my new favorite thing :) This weekend we will be toasting our friends on their recent engagement and I am making my famous charcuterie board for the occasion. A few more dinners with friends, work events and prepping for my trip to CT are making this month fly by! We have something really exciting happening in September, but I am trying not to wish away the weeks and enjoy every bit of summer we have left.

Workout schedule. Learning to slow down has been the most challenging things about pregnancy thus far (more on that tomorrow). I had to switch my workouts from running and spinning to yoga, pilates and walking. I have always been a high energy person and genuinely love working out on a daily basis. Normally working out gives me a burst of energy, but with this stage I can’t push myself to 100% like before. The only high intensity activity I couldn’t cut out just yet has been my new favorite hobby, tennis. I have been playing once a week and it has become my favorite part of my weekly workout routine.

Filling my creative “cup”. I touched on this topic briefly a few weeks ago, but work has really been filling my creative cup lately and I feel really lucky to love what I do everyday. I miss creating for myself, but I am feeling like I have exhausted all of my creativity energy by the end of the day. Would you like to see some of my behind the scenes work on the blog? Also, be sure to follow Amy Berry Home for a little bit of what I do on a daily basis :)

Currently watching. I must have been living under a rock, but we just started watching Handmaid’s Tale and we can’t turn it off. We are only on Season 1, so don’t spoil it for me! A few others we are loving: Yellowstone, Four Weddings and a Funeral, and Younger. We have been spending our weekend nights in lately, so any new recs are greatly appreciated!

Recent Finds. I mentioned this yesterday but this Sleeper dress has become my an instant favorite. Considering getting it in navy and green to transition to Fall (oops, I didn’t mean to say that word already). Really any dress that feels like pajamas is a win in my book right now. I am not really looking forward to cooler temps, a bigger bump and the idea of pants. I made it halfway so far without having to buy anything maternity, but I have a feeling it is only a matter of time. I really am going to do my best to find pieces that I just genuinely love and will be able to wear now and later.
