A NECKLACE STORY

Last week when I did a little impromptu Q&A on my Instagram, I received quite a few questions about the necklaces I wear daily, so I thought I would share the answers here!

Initial Necklace / Three Diamond Necklace / ‘Lauren Joy’ Necklace / Missoma x Lucy Williams Necklace

I feel like I should start by saying, I am one of those girls that rarely rotates her jewelry. Each piece I have is special and intentional because I wear them everyday.  Minus a few exceptions, like statement earrings, I rarely take anything off because when I do, it typically ends up lost in some jewelry box only to be found four years later when we move.

Where did you get the gold necklace?

The number one question I receive is, “where did you get that gold disk necklace?” Whether it’s in the grocery store or out with friends, I am constantly sharing the details.  It is actually part of Lucy Williams (if you are not already following her, you should!) collaboration with Missoma. The UK based jewelry designer creates the most beautiful pieces.  Honestly, it was hard to choose just one.  The next piece I want to add to my collection is this little choker.

How do the necklaces not get tangled?

This one is easy, I never take them off because the second I do, they end up in a ball on my nightstand and it takes hours to untangle.  I really should invest in a little jewelry stand.

Do any of your necklaces have meaning behind them?

So I will start with the oldest first; my A necklace. I am not quite sure when the tradition started, but each of the women in our family have (had, oops!) these initial necklaces.  On my 16th birthday, my mom surprised me with my very own. The exact necklace is actually from a small boutique in Kansas City and no longer exists, but this one is almost identical.

Next is the little diamond disk.  This one is a less sentimental than the rest. I actually got it after my first raise.  It was a total splurge for me at the time and I still love it as much as the day I picked it up!

Since I already talked about how my parents gifted me the Missoma one, the last one might be the most special.  It was also a gift from my parents for my 30th birthday.  Three diamonds for three decades of life.  How cute are they?

What are your favorite dainty jewelry brands?

There are a few that stand out amongst the rest,  Ariel Gordon will always be a favorite, Dana Rebecca, Adina Reyter, Jane Pope, EF Collection, and Lana to name a few.

So that’s the story! If you have any other questions, feel free to leave them in the comments.

Pretty. I have a necklace I never take off, too, but I like the idea of these super delicate ones. I’m planning to get a birthstone necklace from Little Sycamore with my grandparents’ and parents’ birthstones.

I love the layered necklaces – I’m on the hunt for a few that would work with the one that I wear everyday (a very minimalist gold circle.)

Also love that nightgown(?) that you are wearing in the photo – where is that from?
