“Because when you stop and look around, life is pretty amazing.”- unknown
As we were about halfway through our long walk this weekend, I don’t know what made me think about this quote. Maybe it was the coffee in my hand, our cute pups walking in front of us, or my husband by my side. Whatever the reason for it, I am thankful because we took a minute to reflect on how “pretty amazing” our life is right now. Do you ever get caught up in the routine or lack of routine in your life and forget to take a step back?
In addition to our two long walks, a great dinner at our favorite restaurant, and lots of errands, I spent Saturday afternoon cleaning out my closet. I purged over fifty items and I feel like a new person. Have you read the book, The Life-Changing Art of Tidying Up? I have yet to read the entire book, but I came across a few excerpts last week and it got me thinking about decluttering my life. Getting rid of items that don’t “spark joy” in your life is crucial to your happiness. Well, I can say I feel exponentially happier since I finished the clean-out. Currently my closet is color coordinated and is only filled with pieces I truly love and wear. Let’s see how long this lasts ;). Now that I have a bunch of extra hangers, does this mean I get to go shopping? Hehe, jk! Does anyone else follow the one in, one out rule? I think it is a great way of keeping your closet streamlined and organized.
