HAVING AN OFF DAY?

Ever have those days where everything just feels off? Like you woke up on the wrong side of the bed and can’t seem to shake it? In a space where I normally talk about happy moments and my favorite things, there are, of course, the in between moments…

Six Ways to Help when having an off Day

Blast the tunes. Music always affects my mood. Whether it be the need to let out a good cry, something to turn your mood around, or have a dance party in the kitchen, the second the beat hits, it’s an instant shift in my mood.

Change of scenery. For me, changing up my location can instantly change my mood. Working from home can get tricky on these days, so whether it means working from the kitchen table instead of my desk or heading out to a coffee shop is a game changer. If this doesn’t seem to work, go for a walk (with music blasting in your headphones, obviously).

Unplug. When I’m are having an “off day,” the last thing I want to do is watch other peoples’ “so-called” perfect lives on Instagram. Let’s be honest, less and less you see people sharing the bad and ugly. I honestly I don’t take enjoyment in watching other peoples struggles. This being said, when I’m having one of those not so perfect days, I stay off my phone and do things that make me happy.

Do all the self-care. I know “self care” is a cheesy, overused saying. That being said, doing a face mask, taking a long bath, or treating yourself to a pedicure can turn your mood around. Trying these little things can only help.

Sweat it out. When I am having a day, the last thing I think I want to do is work out. 100% of the time, if I do exercise I always feel better. The endorphins from a good sweat and taking your mind off of whatever is bothering you for an hour will change your mood. Even if it is just for an hour.

Change your outlook. On those days when you feel off, look in the mirror and tell yourself it’s going to be a good day. One of my best girlfriends always says I am the most positive person she has met, but my moto––even on those bad days, is to wake up and choose joy and happiness. Just try it, I promise it helps.
