Packing For Vail Colorado

A last minute trip to Vail popped up on our calendar and I couldn’t resist another opportunity to get in a little skiing and crisp mountain air. We are headed back to the mountains this weekend and I will be bringing all of my warm weather essentials.

I have said this before about traveling, but I am going on year three of only using a carry-on bag. No matter how long the trip, I have found a way to pack in my little suitcase.  IMO, it is a total game changer. I only pack what I need and I take the time to plan out my outfits before throwing unnecessary items in just because there is extra room.  For this trip, I am lucky because all of our ski gear is already in Colorado, so I guess I can’t be too proud of myself for fitting it all in my favorite travel bag. For this trip I am bringing the following: three sweaters (this, this and this), a few tees (my go-to white tee), two coats, two pairs of jeans, three workout outfits(these leggings are my fav!), a swimsuitsneakers, Sorel boots, and my over-the knee boots.

I learned a few years ago that a good ski jacket can make or break your time on the mountain.  While I prefer a half day on the mountain and then an early apres ski, Patrick likes to spend the maximum amount of time on the mountain.  Staying warm is soo important to me when we spend 6+ hours on the mountain.  I invested in this jacket almost three years ago and it is in perfect condition. Unfortunately, I have the one without the faux fur and it is sold out everywhere. Before I bought my jacket, I had this one and I loved it! If I was in the market for a new ski gear, I would definitely look at Perfect Moment and Tory Sport. Some of my other necessities include these socks, these glovesthese goggles, these pants, and this helmet––because, safety first. Oh, and don’t forget hand warmers…these are a must for staying warm.

If there was one thing I deem a ‘necessity’ when packing for Colorado, it’s my skincare regimen. My skin tends to be on the dry side, so extra moisture is so important.  Our place has these humidifiers, which help, but soaking my skin with oils and moisturizing masks are key to keeping my skin in check.
