NOTHING TO WEAR

Do you ever have one of those days where you just have nothing to wear? Today was that kind of day.

High Waisted Black Jeans (under $50!) / White Button Down (on sale!) / Bag / Sandals (almost identical version-under $100)

I have talked about it before but since I started working from home a little over two years ago I have struggled with getting out of my pj’s or work out clothes. In an effort to be more productive, last year I started a new routine. Wake up, make my coffee, publish my blog post, work out, shower and get dressed and ready for the day. While I wish I could say I follow this schedule everyday; life happens and sometime you just want to work in your pj’s all day ;) Whether it’s leggings and a sweater or jeans and a tee; my day feels instantly more productive when I get dressed.

I am definitely a creature of habit, so when the season changed I struggled with those easy outfits. During the summer I would throw on a stripe tee and shorts or a midi dress. I was in my routine and getting dressed was easy. I have realized that going back to the basics is the best way to get out of the “I have nothing to wear” slump. A crisp white button down and black denim is the perfect answer to that dreaded question. Side note: If you go to an office setting, a pair of black pants (these pants were in permanent rotation during my office days) and a white blouse is a great alternative to this basic outfit.

The event of the season started today! Shopbop is having their only sale of the season and I don’t think it could have come at a better time. I started to clean out my closet today and just made room for some of this seasons staples. It may seem a little steep at first, but when you spend $500, you get 25% off. Fill up your cart and go to check out and you will be amazed at how much you are saving. Things at the top of my list: a new pair of Stuart Weiztman boots, a few cute go-to tops (like this one), some cashmere Vince pieces and a new coat.
