If you haven’t heard, today is the second day of the famous 25% off Shopbop Friends and Family Sale. This is my favorite time to stock up on classics like these Equipment silk tops, Spring/Summer dresses, denim and new shoes. I have been keeping a wish list on my desk for the last couple weeks full of new arrivals.
On the top of the list: this pair of sneakers. I have been searching for the perfect pair of white sneakers to style with jeans or dresses for Spring and now I have an excuse to pull the trigger (25% off, no brainer). Next up, a white bag. While I have had my eyes set on the Celine Trio for some time, this Clare V. bag fits the mold. It’s sleek and mini but still big enough for all the essentials. What are your wish list items this spring? Be sure to shop quickly, the sale ends tomorrow, April 7th. Happy Shopping!
When I was planning for Mackenzie and I’s girls trip to the Caribbean a few weeks ago I naturally headed to my go-to for new arrivals, Shopbop. I came across this adorable Mara Hoffman outfit and texted a picture to Mackenzie saying we both needed this outfit. Funny enough, a package arrived at her door the same day with the same exact outfit. Great minds, think alike.
We knew we were only going to have a few hours in St. Barth’s, so a little research beforehand paid off. We hopped off the boat and headed straight to Baie De Saint Jean. We grabbed an iced coffee and croissant from a cute little café called, Kiki-e-Mo and then headed down to the beach for a little sunshine. We ended up lounging at Nikki beach (we heard this place gets pretty rowdy at night- the French know how to party) and then had a quick bite and some rosé at The Sand Bar before we hopped back on the boat.
I think we are all in agreement, we will be booking a trip back to St. Barth’s very soon!

The holidays are quickly approaching and my calendar is starting to fill up with loads of holiday parties and events. Finding the perfect dress that can be worn for a work party and a friend-gathering can be a tricky task. Every year I try to find one item that can be worn a few ways to create a completely different look. This year, thanks to #mybestsummerever shopping spree, I scooped up this ALC Dress at the beginning of September with the thought in mind I would wear it this winter for holiday parties with tights, my favorite boots or with a fun pair of heels and a red lip. It has quickly become a go-to dress in my closet for every occasion from date night to work meetings.
The definite weather shift in Dallas has caused me to scramble for those sweaters in the back of my closet. I am craving all things plaid, oversized and comfy while still staying chic. I turn into a total homebody when the temperature drops which normally has me craving some interior updates, new holiday decor and yummy fall recipes.

“The secret of change is to focus all of your energy, not on fighting the old, but on building the new.”- Socrates
It has now been three months since we moved to Dallas, and to say I am not completely head over heels with this city would be a lie. Shopping, great food, and amazing friends have left me feeling full. I found myself focusing most of my time off of my phone and computer (minus, the countless hours of work) without reason.
For the last two weeks, I went back and fourth about calling it quits, but every time the thought came into my mind I had a sinking feeling in my stomach. I still felt like there was something missing. The more I sat on the idea, the more I came to the realization that A Dash of Details is my passion. It is something I wake up in the morning for, and it is something I could spend countless hours on (even if only 2 people are reading my letters everyday). Never in a million years did I think this blog would give me so much joy and an outlet for all of the things I love. The funny thing is I was never much of a writer growing up, but sitting down at my computer screen everyday, thoughts just spill out onto the pages. This space has always been about what I love, who I am and all the little details in between.
While I don’t know where I am going just yet, I am focusing on building the new rather than focusing my energy on where I was. So, in case you missed me, I am back and ready to spill my heart out onto these pages again.

There is something to be said about the feeling when you get a new pair of shoes or really anything new. It’s a complete feeling of joy and excitement about all of the places those shoes will take me. I know this may sound extremely superficial and spoiled, but for me clothes have always been a way for me to keep track of memories. I remember what I wore on the first day of Kindergarten, my first day of my first job, and even when I got my heart broken for the first time. Feeling locked in- doors due to all of this snow is really making me crave sunshine and a good shopping trip to cheer me up!
This time we are headed to sunny Scottsdale for a quick trip with a major wedding to-do list in front of us. Hopefully we will be checking some of the big things off our list, like setting a date! Our hopes are to sprinkle in a little golf, hiking, and of course some quality family time.
I honestly do not know what I am more excited for, A. starting the wedding planning process or B. getting out of this horribly cold weather. I am definitely packing some shorts for this trip to 75 degrees and sunny (jealous yet?)
