DOING THINGS + A BBG UPDATE

I could go on and on with the motivational quotes I kept repeating in my head this past month. But the hard part is over! We made it through the hardest part, the beginning. I am proud to say, I worked out at least four days a week in the month of January. What I realized––in my 30th year of life is that change doesn’t happen overnight (anymore) and hard work is really the only way to see results.  So without further adieu, a little recap of my fitness journey in the month of January.

I am on week 6 of BBG and I am loving every minute of the workout plan.  I have noticed that the Monday, Wednesday, Friday schedule holds me accountable and to a routine. I have never been so excited to go to the gym everyday, even when I’m tired. Honestly, I haven’t lost a pound since starting the workouts in December, but I am starting to see positive changes in my body, which to me is more important than the number on the scale. If you are not familiar with BBG, here is some more info.

I talked about my workout schedule in this post if you are interested in reading. The most frequently asked question I have been getting lately is, Where do you do your BBG workouts? We belong to Equinox and so I use the gym, however you can totally do them at home with minimal equipment. I love being able to hop on the treadmill for a quick warmup before starting the workouts. I also tried some new workout classes this month! Towards the end of the month I was really sore, so I added in some hot yoga on Sundays and tried Orange Theory with my besties in Scottsdale when we were traveling.  They both have been doing the workout for years and I can see why they love it.

If you are local to Dallas, are there any studios you love?

Now let’s talk clothes, because I live for the “look good, feel good” moto. You could call me an Outdoor Voices groupie. I have been hooked on the brand after trying my first pair of leggings on two years ago.  I now have three of these Outdoor Voices sets and I can’t get enough. The fit is super flattering and the patterns are everything.  This pair is currently sitting in my cart. I also have the Tech Sweat leggings and sports bra that I love for warm weather or hot yoga.  They feel like butta on your skin and squeeze you in all the right places :)

A few other things getting me through my workouts are this Nike pullover for cool morning runs, my wireless headphones, this yoga mat, my foam roller, my Nike Free’s, and this water bottle.

This is so inspiring! I just started BBG and while I’m feeling sore, I love the feeling I get after finishing each workout. It makes me happy to see that other people are enjoying it, too.

Thanks for posting this – you look fantastic!

Hi Melissa, I use the book because I bought it a few years ago before they had the app. When I move on to BBG 2.0 I am going to use the app. I have heard great things! I love the book because I have it saved onto my phone and can keep the page open while I’m working out. Xox- Ali

Hi Joyce, I haven’t started the meal plan yet. I wanted to ease into the workouts and then change my diet. I eat pretty clean during the week, but didn’t want to do too much all at once. Let me know how you like the first seven days! Xx-Ali

How do you think their OV leggings run? Are they very, very tight? Wondering about sizing because they’ve been on my wish list for ages, and maybe nice leggings will get me to the gym!

Hi Meredith, I would say they are true to size, I ordered a small, but think I could have done an xs and they would have been fine. Let me know which ones you pick out. I love the Springs! xx-Ali
