I thought I would share an article I worked on a couple months back with Andrea from INK Magazine, a local Kansas City magazine, as a part of their At Home series.  It was so fun to talk with her about my style and my love for interior design.  You can read the entire feature here.  I love that I now have pictures of our first house (since we now longer live in this house- as of just a few weeks ago).

Honestly, Patrick and I started completely from scratch when getting things for our place.  We moved in with two beds, some knick knacks, and our clothes. It is so fun to see how things finally came together.  We were still working on filling the space when I was given the opportunity to move, so for now most of what you see is in storage, but hopefully everything will be used in our next house we settle down in.  Hope you enjoy and thanks to Andrea for the great article.

LATELY

Happy Tax day! Just kidding, hopefully every one has turned in those brutal forms and is in the clear.  This weekend just flew right by, probably because it was jam packed with work, events and family time. I kind of feel like I need a few days to relax after my weekend, but instead I am off and running again.  This week is the going to be a nuts finalizing all of the last little details of our big charity event on Saturday (thankfully Patrick is coming in town to help with the heavy lifting!)

So back to the weekend; Saturday afternoon Michele and I (thanks to La Crema Wines) ventured downtown for a preview of Dining by Design and enjoyed a panel full of experts in the event and entertaining worlds. I was blown away by some of the theme interpretations and the effort that goes into making an event like this happen. We chatted with a few designers and snapped some photos of the space.

A Little Country

So did I mention I am looking for a new place to live?  This weekend Patrick and I went on a major house hunt and without much luck.  A couple good options fell through and a few that may still be in the works.  Well anyways, the entire weekend all I wanted to do was fill this “house that doesn’t exists” with beautiful furniture and accessories.  The one things we both agree on is a cowhide rug for the living room.  Probably this one from the new online store, Lulu and Georgia. Have I mentioned that I am kind of obsessed with everything.

Anywho, I have been pinning like crazy for room inspiration and I am particularly partial to this room by Miss Emily Henderson.  Since this will be the first time I am not living with girlies, I decided our place must have a little masculine touch, which means no more corals and powder blue walls.   I am thinking big American flag, antlers, cowhide rugs and big cozy couches.  Of course add some gold details and florals to give the space a few feminine touches.
