OCTOBER DETAILS + LIFE UPDATE

Have you missed me? If you didn’t notice, it has been a little quiet around here this past month.  After taking an unexpected hiatus, I have to say, it was really nice to unplug and refresh before the hustle and bustle of the holidays.  This time of the year is always so busy and it was nice to enjoy the change of seasons off-line for the first time in eight years.

So, in case you missed hearing from me, here’s a little October Details and some life updates.

OCTOBER DETAILS

October started on a high note at my best friend’s beautiful wedding in Maine.  We had the best time celebrating the happy couple. I wish we had a few more days to explore, but that just means we will have to go back again soon.  The leaves were just starting the change the first week of October. I can only imagine how beautiful it would have been just a week later.  A lot of you asked about my dress I wore to the wedding, here’s the exact one. It’s perfect for any black tie event.

I blame it on traveling and having a little too much on my plate, the second we got back from Maine, I ended up under the weather. I spent the beginning of October sleeping and trying to recover. I did have a chance to do a little online shopping and I stocked up on some amazing Fall finds.

I stocked up on some of my favorite Autumn Cashmere sweaters, The Great sweatshirts and sweatpants (seriously the best for winter) and a few cozy cardigans. Next on my wishlist are a few splurge-worthy pairs:  this pair of mules, these booties, and these sneakers.

Once I finally started feeling better, it was back to the races.  I hopped back on a plane to Birmingham with Amy for a quick little work trip! The city was so charming and the people were equally as lovely. The highlight of the trip was touring a farmhouse designed by Mark Sikes.  It was perfection.  I arrived home on a Sunday and my parents came in town later that afternoon! We had the best four days together hopping all around Dallas! I wish they would move here already!

Other than my quick work trip, we have been in town the entire month of October. It was sooo nice.  We haven’t spent an entire month at home since moving to Dallas five years ago. I have to say, sometimes it’s nice to slow down and just enjoy the weekends at home. What I didn’t realize during this time was how much I needed a break.  I was starting to feel overwhelmed with comparison and it was crushing my creativity.  So, instead of mindlessly scrolling Instagram, feeling like I needed to be sharing my entire days on Instagram Stories, I took a step back and it really opened my eyes. I am so excited to be back with a clear mind,  fun content ideas, and lots to share. This break was just what I needed.

A FEW LITTLE DETAILS

Since taking a break from sharing this month, there are a few things to note:

SHOPPING: So many amazing influencer launched their first collections this month, including Blair’s collection with Nordstrom that just launched today.  It is nothing short of perfection. Here are a few of my favorites: these flats, this sweater, these navy pants, and this blazer.  I am really looking forward to the Something Navy November collection, too.

VOTING: Hopefully everyone has registered and is ready to vote on November 6th. Jess wrote a great article about How to Be An Informed Voter.

EATING: I have been making this chicken noodle soup recipe on repeat. Also, in case you are wondering, I am still drinking celery juice and I will work on a post about the changes I have made since I started.

THIS WEEKEND: We have plans to go apple picking and carve some pumpkins this weekend––you know, all of the Fall things.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart for sticking around! I am back to regularly scheduled content and I have some really fun stuff up my sleeve (along with some great shopping!). I feel so lucky for this supportive community of gals!
