Happy Friday, friends! Did everyone have a great week? A few of you have recently asked for a few updates about my job with Amy. One of my favorite parts of the job is photoshoot day (no surprises, here). Styling and flower arranging make these long days so much fun! Plus, seeing the finished projects always give me so much inspiration.
Have you missed me? If you didn’t notice, it has been a little quiet around here this past month. After taking an unexpected hiatus, I have to say, it was really nice to unplug and refresh before the hustle and bustle of the holidays. This time of the year is always so busy and it was nice to enjoy the change of seasons off-line for the first time in eight years.
So, in case you missed hearing from me, here’s a little October Details and some life updates.

At least once a week Patrick and I make a point to go out on a date. After 10+ years of dating and three years of marriage, it is still out favorite thing to do together. Before heading out, we turn on our favorite music, pour a glass of wine and unwind from the week.

Did you know today is National Coffee Day? As if everyday isn’t National Coffee Day? In all honesty, these made up holidays make me laugh a bit, but this is one I can totally get behind. But it’s Friday and that means it is time for wine!
You are probably thinking that it’s a new season, but everything else looks the same. What can I say, at least I’m consistent. A new hair cut, a new tee, jeans, and slides and a few new classic pieces for Fall have me feeling refreshed and ready for the new season. Oh, and on Friday, I cut off three inches from my hair and my new hairstylist, Sofie, added a ton of layers. Nothing like starting the weekend with a fresh new do!

Finally, it is here. What is here, you ask? Sweater Weather.
With the weather being more than mild around this neck of the woods, I haven’t been able to wear my new sweater. I picked up this loose fitting turtleneck during the Shopbop sale and I have been waiting for the perfect moment to wear this stripe number. This weekend we ventured out for date night at our neighborhood favorite on Friday and when the weather is below 70, anything goes :)
When it comes to investment pieces, I tend to do A LOT of research before pulling the trigger on an item. Here are the 10 pieces I think you should invest in for Fall/Winter that will last you for years to come.
“And all at once Summer collapsed into Fall.”- Oscar Wilde
Does anyone else feel like they blinked and all of a sudden we are into the last part of the year? The weather in Dallas was just about perfect this weekend and actually made me start looking at my Fall to-do list. I haven’t fully checked anything off my list just yet, but I did make my first batch of crock pot turkey chili (yumm), enjoyed a candlelight yoga class and I started brainstorming ideas for our first annual pumpkin carving party. I swear before we know it, the holidays are going to be here. I am not sure about you, but I am not quite ready to let this year come to an end.
“Great people do things before they’re ready. They do things before they know they can do it Doing what you’re afraid of, getting out of your comfort zone, taking risks like that- that is what life is. You might be really good. You might find something about yourself that’s really special and if you’re not good, who cares? You tried something. Now you know something about yourself.”- Amy Poheler
This week has been filled with lots of highs and lows. It has been a week that taught me something about myself. A week that made me realize I am stronger than I thought I was last week. Life has a funny way of throwing you curve balls, but I’ve realized embracing them is what make you a better person. I think without the lows, the highs wouldn’t feel as good. This week, the highs were incredible! I met Mark D. Sikes, Reese Witherspoon and spent my days catching up with “my people”. It was seriously one of those weeks where I will look back and think, did this really happen?
