We are coming to visit!

The first thing that goes through my mind when I hear those words are, oh my goodness I am so excited we have guests, but we have no bed!  Moving to Dallas means friends and family will be coming to stay with us on a regular basis. However, this is going to be a slight issue considering our guest room has been taken over by the dogs and their toys. Read: we have no furniture in that room other than a dresser (filled with my clothes…oops).  In the next couple weeks, we have a few visitors staying over and I am in a rush to finish (well, start) our guest room.

Starting with a blank slate can be fun, but it is going to be even more fun because I came across these amazing photographs from Gray Malin.  You guys know I am a huge fan of his work, so when I came across these photographs  on his new website, I know I wanted to make our extra room a getaway for all of our guests. Think white linen bedding, natural headboard, fun, bright pillows and these photographs hanging on the walls.

If these images are not enough to make you want to redecorate, if you find something you like today they are offering free framing for all sizes. So I may not have a bed, but at least the walls will look great!

REMODO

Pouf

Growing up I was constantly redecorating my space. Thank goodness for my mom’s patience, she repeatedly moved my twin trundle beds from one side of the room to the next. Not to mention the countless hours we spent at Bed Bath and Beyond and the Container Store.

‘Till this day I still love redecorating my space, however it is a little different when it is your own money.  So when I heard, Whitney and Amanda Fox started a company to transform a room on a budget, I was sold.  Whitney and Amanda grew up moving around the US; so making their space feel like home was very important. After college, the girls were searching the web for affordable items for their New York apartments. They couldn’t find a site that was a destination for young adults. That is where the idea for Remodo was born.

Remodo carries everything from bedding to desk accessories, and the best part is that everything is reasonably priced.  The site includes a one-stop shop for all of your design needs, so if you don’t have time to search for items, or really just don’t have the eye for interior design, Remodo will design your room for you in three easy steps.  All you do is pick your package, fill out a questionnaire and then view your room and purchase the items you like. If you want to do the decorating yourself, they have amazing items like this moroccan pouf and this embroidered pillow.

Day 20: A Dash of Fun Fonts

Today I have been working on some crafty additions for my Christmas presents (those will have to be kept secret) and I decided I needed some new fonts. Here are a few I downloaded from here.  The best part was that they were all free! Only 6 more days until the big day or as Patrick would like to say only 2 more days until the big day (his birthday!)

Wall of Art

This weekend we just found out we are able to stay in our place for another year..Great News. A couple months ago I stop buying stuff for the place because I was not sure how long we were going to be able to stay.  Well… we have a big blank wall on the dining room that needs some love.  I am thinking about making an art collage wall.  I can’t wait to fill the blank “canvas”.

A Little Painting

So this past weekend I decided to take up a new hobby, painting.  I have always loved drawing and photography but I have never been the greatest painter.  I got the idea for the painting a while back..do you remember this post about Coco & Hearts artist’s home, Jen.  Well my inspiration came from her Lipstick Dot paintings. The best part of the project is that it only cost a total of $25 dollars! I may not be a professional but I think it turned out pretty well (sorry for the bad quality photos, they came from my iphone.)

Home Tour- Made By Girl

How beautiful is this home?? It is Jen’s home, the author of Made By Girl. The house is to. die. for. And the art is what lead me to her home tour when I realized she is an artist and graphic designer with a company called Coco & Hearts.  I really love the dot paiting in the living room..maybe some day!

Rock Chalk

Since this weekend is the Big Twelve Tournament in Kansas City, I thought it was appropriate to show some school pride.  Sav-Art is a local artist from Kansas City, who I just adore. I think he may love Lawrence as much as I do. The Wheel, Allen Fieldhouse, and the Delta Gamma house just bring me back to a great place!
