We surprisingly didn’t do much to this room for this refresh. The kitchen renovation was completed before we moved into the house. Thankfully, I can’t complain too much about an all white kitchen but I have to say that when we find our next place, I will be picking all of the finishes. ;)
This table and chair set up has been with us through four moves, three states, and eight years. While, my style has changed over the last eight years, these classic Parsons chairs will definitely be making the move to our next home. I have been getting a ton of questions about our dining table recently, and I am sad to say, it is a one of a kind. Patrick (my husband) built it in the basement of our first home and it is so special to us.
We made two upgrades that I personally think change everything. We added this Annie Selke rug in the kitchen and this Craftmade pendant light above the island. Without both of these, the room felt unfinished and I love how the rug brings a little color into our all white kitchen!
In addition to our table and chairs that we have had for ages, our first piece of art we ever bought together was this Gray Malin print and will forever be my favorite. Speaking of pictures, the one at the end of the island is from our wedding (you can read the story behind it here) and the lighthouse pictures I shot this past summer on Nantucket and are framed in the Logan Frame. Every inch of our home is filled with happy memories.
There are not even words to describe this pup. She is just too much :)
I know a lot of you gals are getting married this year (or recently engaged), so I thought I would add a few must-haves that were on our registry that we use every (or almost) day.
The Kitchen Aid mixer: for all you bakers is a must, plus it looks cute on your counter.
Nespresso Vertuo Coffee Maker: Does this even need explanation? I really can’t live without this.
Staud Dutch Oven: While I have to admit I have been a bad chef, I do use this almost every time I cook.
Simple Human Trash Can: I know it isn’t that glamorous, but our trash can is visible and this one looks as pretty as a trashcan can be. Major bonus, it’s hands free!
Cookbooks: Something I use all the time when I am in a cooking cycle, plus they bring color to your kitchen!
