WELCOME BACK

First things first: Hi! How are you?! Welcome back to ADOD. Gosh, I have missed this space so much and after almost of year of some much needed time off, I am back with new perspective and energy. So much has changed since the last time I sat down and wrote a blog post. I promise to update you on all of the details, but last year was the beginning of lots of changes, understanding, and personal growth. Back in April, I started to feel like posting about clothes and my daily life felt frivolous with everything going on in the world. There was so much unknown, so I decided to take a step back and focus on my family who needed me the most. I chose to learn, discuss and grow offline because that is where I felt grounded and safe. To be completely honest, it was the right decision at the time. The best takeaway from my time off was spending our sons first year completely unplugged. It was the first time I didn’t feel the urge to be creating content every moment of everyday, but instead just embracing the quiet in between moments.

A WEEKLY WINE NIGHT

Anthropologie Home

There is nothing like a girls’ night to make the week just a little brighter. We started our Thursday girl’s night on a whim and it is for sure the best part of my week. It typically involves take out and a post-gym look, but sometimes it’s fun to jazz things up a bit. I invited the gals for a little pre-spring fling to use my entertaining pieces from Anthropologie’s new collection.

“Be thankful for what you have; you’ll end up having more. If you concentrate on what you don’t have, you will never, ever have enough.”-Oprah

I have so many things I have to be thankful for this year. First and foremost, for my family, my health, my puppy girls, and of course, and all of you!

A PICTURE IS WORTH…

Framebridge Wedding ShopThis is my favorite picture from our wedding. Yes, I know what you’re thinking, it’s not a professional shot from the day or night, it’s a blurry black and white iPhone picture. But this photo is everything to me. It was 1:30am, pouring rain and I was on cloud 9.

APRIL THINGS

So I know this is a little late and we are already five days into April.. I cannot believe it is already April! This year has just flown by. I think most of you know by now that I work for a Major League Baseball team, so right now my day job has pretty much taken over my life, but in a good way.  Our Home Opener is less than a week away and it all starts again.  Honestly I will be thankful to not have to sit in front of a computer all day long for the next 6 months.  When I started looking for jobs after college, I knew I needed a career that did not involve sitting in a cube from 9-5. After a lot of searching, I ended up with the best of both worlds and I could not be happier.  I started blogging a little over two years ago and it is honestly something I do that makes me happy everyday. Even as busy as I am sometimes, this blog is a place where I can be honest, creative, and be myself.  I will continue to do this everyday for as long as I still enjoy it and you all are the one’s who make it worth it. So thank you for continuing to come back everyday and read and comment about my crazy life.

What are some of your favorite things about April?  I know I am super excited for some hopefully warmer weather in the near future!

T'WAS THE NIGHT BEFORE

Merry Christmas eve from me to you!  I hope you are enjoying time with family or friends.  We have a few family traditions around here that include drinking hot cocoa with marshmallows of course, light sightings,t tracking santa on his journey to our house and watching a Christmas themed movie (this year Aiden picked Home Alone and I have a sweet spot for his belly laugh).

I am so blessed this holiday season and, you readers are a huge part of everything that I am grateful for this year.  Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!

Time Flies

When your having fun.

My trip to Arizona was fabulous and went by in a flash. I watched a few Little League Baseball games, enjoyed a great dinner with my besties at The House, a new restaurant in Downtown Scottsdale, a quick, last minute Halloween costume for some kid friendly trick or treating and the best part, spending time with my family (I forget how much I miss seeing them everyday).

Home for only a few short days, the hours involved antique shopping in the West Bottoms, art gallery hopping during First Fridays and some down time on the couch. I jumped back on the plane and jet- setted to Vegas for a work trip.  Let’s just say what happens in Vegas comes back with you in the form of a cold.

Anywho… I am back.
