The 4th of July is around the corner and what better time to pull out my favorite blue and white stripe skirt. Earlier this Spring, Tuckernuck launched their own collection and I have been wearing this skirt on repeat since May! It pairs perfectly with a basic white tee, a wide stripe shirt, or a crop sweater for chillier days. Add a few red accessories and you are all set for the holiday (without screaming firework!) I love the idea of mixing prints, florals and stripes so your outfit doesn’t scream flag swimsuit from Old Navy circa 2000. lol.Read more
The days are flying by and I am still having a hard time believing that we have been living in Nantucket for two weeks already. The weather has been absolutely gorgeous here–compared to the 103º, I have been seeing on my weather app for Dallas.
With just over two weeks until Mackenzie’s bachelorette party in Charleston (eeek!), I started browsing the web for some cute Spring pieces to bring on the trip. It has been over 5 years since I was last in Charleston, so I am looking forward to exploring! A little fun fact about me: Charleston is one of my favorite cities in the US. The southern charm, amazing homes and history set it at the top of my list. Oh, and of course the food and shopping don’t hurt either ;)
Denim and Stripes. If you ask me, there is really nothing better than this combo. The classic styles are both in heavy rotation in my closet. Honestly, you will most likely find me in some version of this outfit more than once a week. :)
One of the biggest denim trends this season is the uneven hem. For someone who is petite (5’2″ to be exact), it is so hard to find crop jeans that actually fit above the ankle. Instead of spending $$$ on a pair of denim that might not work, I partnered with Old Navy for a little DIY denim project.
Keep reading to find out how to create the uneven hem denim look for under $50.
Happy Labor Day weekend! I am keeping this short and sweet this morning because we are headed out to the ranch outside of Austin for a little R&R and family fun. I plan to do a ton of online shopping because there are so many good sales going on until Monday! See the complete list below:
Song of the Day: Ghost by Halsey
Do you guys watch “Roadies” on Showtime? It has become one of our favorite shows on TV and it’s because of the amazing music. Whether it’s in the background or the highlighted artist, I have been introduced to so many new songs through this show. This week, Halsey performed. She was a new-to-me artist and there is something so soothing about her voice that I listened to her album on repeat all day yesterday.
Do you ever think there are TV shows or songs that help you remember a period in your life? Like one’s that touch you in a different way? I definitely do. I even think a song can completely change my mood. Since I started working from home, my day always starts with a song to set my mood and intention. Today it was Ghost, what is your song of the day?
One of my favorite days this summer was spent on the Endeavor. Thanks to the best host ever, Mackenzie chartered this beautiful sailboat for the day to cruise around the Nantucket Sound. There is something so unforgettable about the wind blowing in your hair, the blue water and of course, nautical stripes.
I may be suffering from those post-vacation blues, but looking at these pictures has never made me so happy. I just got back from a 5 day trip to Nantucket. Mackenzie and her family have been vacationing on the island since before she was born, so I could not think of a more perfect host to show us around her favorite place. I was lucky enough to visit Nantucket with her and Amy last September, but this was the first time Patrick was able to see this very special place.
