I am slowly but surely perfecting my skincare game. Last year I switch to almost all clean products and I have never looked back. I have found the products that work best for my skin and I am so happy with the results. Dewy, hydrated and clean are the name of the game for this dry skin gal. So without further adieu, The Clean Beauty Edit
It has been a minute since we last chatted about skincare. I am still learning so much about clean beauty, but I have definitely started playing favorites, ie: Tata Harper and RMS Beauty being on my top shelf. In the last couple months I have added a few new tools and products to my routine.
The sale of the century is here–ha, just kidding! But in all honestly, The Nordstrom Anniversary sale has officially kicked off and I have scoured the pages of the sale and have found my must-have items. The list is extensive, but if you are anything like me, I love an excuse for a great deal on something I would be purchasing for the season anyways.
With over 70 PAGES of products, it can get really overwhelming to shop for what you really need/want. For me, during these types of SALES I always look for the classics, or what I like to call the investment pieces. This way I don’t end up with a bunch of random sweaters and dresses that 1. I don’t really need and 2. I can’t mix and match with what is already in my closet. Here is a breakdown of my must-have items from the sale.
Let’s face it, looking beautiful on the outside can be hard work. The older I get the more products I feel like I need.
I will be honest, I hate spending money on beauty products, but I also love having all the things. Good shampoo and conditioner makes or breaks a good hair day, moisturizer keeps your skin feeling soft, and those magic serums do wonders on fine lines. All that being said, this time of the year is perfect to stock up on all your favorite products (or even put them on your wish list).
24 Karat Gold Mask / Cheek and Lip Palette / Sigma Brush Set / Santal 33 Parfum / Newlash Duo / Sugar Lip Set / Silk Sleep Mask / Hair brush / La Mar Moisturizer Set / Rose Face Mist / T3 Styling Wand / Rose Face Mask
No matter what the season, my skin is always dry. I am lucky enough to be blessed with clear skin, but no matter the season, my skin is always craving hydration. Coming from a girl that has dry/sensitive skin, here are a few tips on how to keep that skin glowing and smooth.
TAKE A HOT SHOWER
The first thing I do in the morning is take a hot shower. I turn on the shower as hot as it will go and let the steam fill the bathroom. I then hop in and turn down the heat and let the steam open my pores and let the moisture soak in.
FIND BEAUTY PRODUCTS THAT WORK FOR YOUR SKIN TYPE
This winter Bare Minerals sent me a quiz to find out what skin type I was before sending me their new 3- step Skinsorials line. After taking the test, I found out (well, already knew) that I was the standard dry/sensitive skin type. I have to be honest, when it comes to trying new products I am always a little nervous at first. Thankfully trying out the new Skinsorials line was a little easier since I have been a fan of Bare Minerals since high school. It was actually the first non-drug store makeup I ever purchased and I still use their powder foundation to this day!
My 3-Step Skinsorials Routine
Oil Obsessed Total Cleansing Oil. Oil cleansing has been all the rage lately, but until now I had never tried one because I was so nervous it was going to leave my face feeling greasy. Well, I was completely wrong. When you wash your face, gently massage the oil onto your dry skin and then lightly dampen your fingers. This will activate the scent of Lavender and Tangerine and leaves your skin feeling silk smooth.
Skinlongevity Vital Power Infusion. Serums are pretty much the best thing since sliced bread. The older I get, the more and more I noticed those little fine lines around my eyes and forehead. Honestly, I should have started taking better care of my skin when I was younger, but now I am doing everything I can to help prevent the signs of aging. This new serum helps to promote your skin’s vitality and reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles (yes, please!). The best part is that it smells amazing.
Butter Drench. This restorative rich cream soaks into my super dry skin and leaves it feeling so moisturized. I have been using it every night and I love the feeling of waking up with soft skin.
You can pick out your 3-part ritual here based on your skin type.
DRINK LOTS OF WATER
I am so guilty of not doing this, but it really does make a huge difference for keeping your skin glowing and moisturized.

I have come to realize that natural beauty normally comes with a price (or a high price tag that is).
That is until I learned about W3ll People beauty. Almost all of the products are under $30 and their all natural formula keeps you not only looking good but feeling good too.
Not only can I do my daily makeup routine in three (well 4) easy steps, but W3ll People products create that easy glow everyone looks for.
I have always stayed far away from foundations. I have been so lucky to have pretty good skin (thanks Mom and Dad) my entire life and never felt it was necessary to cover my face in liquid foundation. When I tried this powder foundation, my opinion completely changed. It is light coverage and just gives your skin an even tone.
After I use the foundation powder, I use the universal multi-stick for blush and the Bronzer stick for a little contour. Just make sure you have a good brush to smooth out the highly concentrated color. :)
Add a little mascara and call it a day! Even ELLE and ALLURE agree this is one of the best mascaras on the market. This mascara is 100% cruelty-free, petroleum-free, paraben free, gluten-free, coal tar-free, aluminum-free, fiber-free, and clump-free! (please read about what is in your mascara….it will change your mind about buying natural products!)
Also, in case you haven’t checked out the Gift Guide, here is my top beauty picks. They also make great Stocking Stuffers too!
* Thank you W3ll People for partnering on this post.

I really try to keep my makeup routine as simple and easy as possible. This may have something to do with not really knowing how to wear it or just because I am pretty lazy. The products I use daily are mascara, under-eye concealer (those darn dark circles) and blush. As far as blush and concealer go, I have found my tried and true brand, but mascara has always been a different story. That is, until I tried Clinique’s new Chubby Lash mascara. It extends your lashes without clumping and doesn’t smudge (smudging is my nemesis..but really). I will be testing out a few more Clinique products in the upcoming months!
Today, I am so excited to be partnering with Clinique to share the release of their new lifestyle website, The Wink. The Wink is not just about beauty- it’s about living your most beautiful, confident life. Wellness, Art and beauty tips are just a few topics covered on the site. Even Gray Malin (one of my favorite current artists) shares his inspiration for his next travel photography series. Be sure to head over to The Wink to see more.

To be honest whenever I try an up-do, I end up looking more like a hot mess. (please tell me I am not alone on this).
Last week I was invited to attend FORM Hair Education with a few of my favorite Dallas blogger girls. This event could not have come at a better time since Holiday parties are in full swing and I needed some ideas about how to switch it up from my normal, down and curled look.
FORM Hair Education was created by the extremely talented Whitney Haynes when she found that her passion was teaching others. FORM was created as a “community of hair professionals committed to the growth of [their] craft, creativity, and continuing education.” The best part is they teach their clients to style their hair like a pro in just a short amount of time. Each of their classes are customized and try to have you leaving the course with the knowledge to repeat the look at home. I loved how Whitney and the other stylist made a point to come over and give me tips on how to create the look for my texture and length of hair.
FORM Hair Education has four courses; Beautiful Blow Dry (I am going to be taking this one next!), Perfect Ponytail, Glamorous Curls, and Tousled Up-Do Style- this is the class we took last week which was perfect in time for those little LBD’s or low back dresses.
Here are a few things I learned (honestly, I was really nervous I was going to be terrible at this!)
1. We started with slightly curled hair. Especially if you have fine hair like me, you want to give it a little added texture for the hair pins and bobby pins. IE: the curls do not need to be perfect or pretty, so you can do this in under 5 minutes.
2. Create a Base: The most important thing we learned is you only really need a handful of pins to create a tousled look that will stay all night. The base is created by sectioning your hair into sections. Take the back section and roll it up in your hand and secure with two long pins, then play with the sides to soften the look. The best tip we received is to only use pins to anchor your hair down. Hair pins (the ones that are open v shapes) should be used the rest of the time to create a more tousled, undone look.
3. Have fun: Playing around with the front pieces is key to creating a look that you love, but don’t pin down until you are done playing or else you will have to start from the beginning!
I cannot wait to take another course, especially the “beautiful blow-dry” class! I along with the other Dallas bloggers at the course loved our experience so much that we have teamed up with FORM Hair Education to give away one seat in the class of your choice! FORM Hair Education is currently only available in Dallas, but be sure to check out their website for more information, www.formhaireducation.com.

With my upcoming nuptials, I have really been trying to step up my beauty game. I am a total creature of habit when it comes to skincare and makeup. I started using Tata Harpers Regenerating Cleanser and the Rebuilding Moisturizer back in December, and I can’t imagine using anything else on my face. I finally caved and bought a Clarisonic last year, but other than that my regimen is pretty minimal. I have been wanting to try a eyelash conditioner for sometime now, but I wasn’t sure if it would actually work. That is, until I saw my momma last month and noticed her eyelashes were soooo long (she thinks they doubled in length). Thanks to my parents for listening to my “hints,” they sent me a bottle of RevitaLash to try for my birthday. Per my fiance, his one request for the wedding is that I do not wear any fake eyelashes (it’s a long story for another time), so hopefully this RevitaLash keeps my eyelashes looking long and healthy. After doing some research, I should notice a difference within the first 3 months….so keep your fingers crossed for me. Do you have any beauty products you swear by, please share with my in the comments section.
