The 4th of July is around the corner and what better time to pull out my favorite blue and white stripe skirt. Earlier this Spring, Tuckernuck launched their own collection and I have been wearing this skirt on repeat since May! It pairs perfectly with a basic white tee, a wide stripe shirt, or a crop sweater for chillier days. Add a few red accessories and you are all set for the holiday (without screaming firework!) I love the idea of mixing prints, florals and stripes so your outfit doesn’t scream flag swimsuit from Old Navy circa 2000. lol.

So, it’s been a minute. Unintentionally, I took a mini break and I’ve missed you! A few weeks ago I filled you in our my busy schedule as of late and the reason why I had been a little MIA. My creative cup has been so full lately and I cannot wait to share all of the fun things I have been working on.
Summer is not over, summer is not over…if I keep repeating it, maybe time will pause, right?! Okay, okay but in all honesty we are nearing the end of summer and I have been thinking about my Fall wardrobe and a few upcoming trips we have planned. While, summer will always be my favorite season, there is some refreshing about Fall style. Sweaters, monotone dressing, and streamlined looks are getting me excited for the cooler months to come.
Pour me a glass of rosé, I am ready for Friday! Anyone else?
This week has been quite the whirlwind––between work, a few really exciting opportunities (hopefully I can share with you soon!), and some fun home projects, somehow I need another day this week to get everything wrapped up before heading to Malibu this weekend. It has been a minute since my last trip to California and I am so excited to explore. I would love to hear any recommendations you have for the area!
Two weeks ago I hosted the Callie Collection Wines launch at Avant Garden. I had such a fun time sipping their crisp Pino Grigio, taking boomerangs with Brighton and making DIY flower letters. I can’t believe it has taken me three years to step into this little flower shop. It is such a darling spot and the peonies were in full bloom!
I have always been a fan of the romper (jumper, whatever you decide to call it) but especially when it is 100+ degrees outside and nothing seems to be comfortable enough to wear. There is something so easy about throwing on a romper, great pair of heels and calling it a day.
Today kicks off my birthday week (Friday I turn the big 2-6), which is actually feeling a little surreal. It could possibly be because exactly a year ago I was packing up our house and Kansas City and taking a major leap of faith changing careers and turing 25 all at the same time. So much has changed in a year. We moved cities again, started another new job, got engaged, settled into 2 different homes, met new friends, and traveled all over the US. If you are a frequent reader, you already know now for the 3rd year in a row, I am in a new city on a new birthday. This year seems especially special because I am celebrating with my fiance by my side, in the city we think we will be spending forever in (but things always change :)). We have spent 7 of my birthdays together and somehow he always finds a way to make my day extra special no matter where we end up finding ourselves.
Whenever I am in a wardrobe slump in the middle of a season, I always gravitate to a certain color palate. In the beginning of the season, I was all about black on black, but these gloomy, short days have me feeling slightly depressed as of late.
Because we cancelled our trip this past weekend, it meant we had an entire weekend that was plan-free. So on Saturday, we ventured out for a little shopping trip and picked up some tulips to freshen things up at the house. One of my favorite winter outfits is to layer vests under a jacket. Even after living in the Midwest for 8 years, I am still a complete wimp when it comes to the cold.
